A very interesting question, and great examples of when Bartok's music was used in film and TV. Béla Bartók (1881–1945) is celebrated as one of the 20th century's most influential composers and ethnomusicologists. A pioneer in blending traditional folk music with classical forms, Bartók collected and studied the music of Eastern Europe, creating innovative works that bridged rural traditions and modernism. His compositions, such as Concerto for Orchestra, Music for Strings, Percussion, and Celesta, and six string quartets, are admired for their rhythmic complexity, harmonic innovation, and emotional depth. Bartók’s fusion of diverse musical elements and his contributions to ethnomusicology have left a lasting legacy, influencing generations of composers and enriching the classical music repertoire.

This portrait of Chopin, painted by then-16-year-old Maria Wodzinska, a childhood friend and most likely ex-fiancé of the composer, is one of only a few painted during Chopin's life. A yard sale find in the 1990's is believed to be another such painting.
