The Able One
Dear Friends,
We conclude our memory verses this month with Ephesians 3:20-21. Surely, we believe that our God is able!
Ephesians 3:20-21 NIV
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
Here, we find a comprehensive list of affirmations about God:
1. He is active, doing work constantly, and never grows tired or weary
2. He answers our prayers (See Hebrews 11:6)
3. He cares about our thoughts and imagination (See 2 Corinthians 10:4-5)
4. He can do all of this
5. He does do immeasurably MORE than all this
When God glorifies Himself, we are blessed! We will be exalted in heaven and on the earth. Since this is true, let us pray that we will remain faithful, available, and teachable to God. Yes, our desire should be to closely follow our Lord!
As we get to enjoy partnership with the Triune God, with His people, and in gospel work, it is our big ask of God that He would save! Save our family, our friends, our co-workers, our classmates! Please don’t stop praying for your 5 Favs and ask God to do a mighty work of salvation in our communities. Pray and ask the Spirit to convict the world of sin, draw people to Jesus (maybe even through us), and bring them into His family. Be praying, even now, that when we hold our special baptism service in July of 2026, we might see just how big our God really is.
Celebrate today the truth that our God is the Able One!

As we remember September 11, 2001, grieve with the community in Evergreen, CO, and share in the sorrow of tragedies across our nation, we look to the light of the world and the One enthroned in heaven. Jesus, the Man of Sorrows, who was acquainted with grief, is a safe resting place for us to find hope.
God sees you today. He wept, He bled, He suffered, He won. Never forget.

Higher Requests
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
We are on an exciting journey together! We are learning to partner with God and each other. Prayer is vital to this union in Christ!
Philippians 1:10-11 NIV
so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ-- to the glory and praise of God.
Here are the intended results:
1. Discernment – Paul expects God to reveal the best for them as they make decisions. When circumstances are put into the fire, impurities can be drawn out. Then God’s best will be revealed.
2. Purity & Blamelessness – Jesus returning on His Day! When He does, our lives will be evaluated. In Christ we are blameless and we can live lives of purity.
3. Spiritual Fruit – Paul expects spiritual fruit will be seen in them. They will act righteously as the Holy Spirit works in and through them. What a blessed inheritance we have in Christ!
I hope today’s thoughts will transform our intercessory prayers. We need to reach for higher requests. We pray with confidence because we know God continues His work in us!

being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

ENDURE | How often do you get into trouble? We regularly sense the pressure rising around us and this kind of affliction can feel suffocating. The sons of Korah give us hope in Psalm 46:1
Psalm 46:1 NIV
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
How very comforting to all who find themselves in trouble! God is ever-present. He never abandons us. He abides in us as we abide in Him. We are never all alone and can be confident in our protection from God. The word “trouble” used in Psalm 46:1 is also used in the account of Joseph in Genesis. He was sold into slavery by his brothers, falsely accused, and thrown into prison. BUT GOD orchestrated his release and Joseph became a ruler in Egypt. Later, God used him to rescue his family. You may wonder: how did Joseph endure all this trouble?
In Genesis 50, He comforts his brothers with these words:
Genesis 50:15-21 NIV
When Joseph's brothers saw that their father was dead, they said, "What if Joseph holds a grudge against us and pays us back for all the wrongs we did to him?" 16 So they sent word to Joseph, saying, "Your father left these instructions before he died: 17 'This is what you are to say to Joseph: I ask you to forgive your brothers the sins and the wrongs they committed in treating you so badly.' Now please forgive the sins of the servants of the God of your father." When their message came to him, Joseph wept. 18 His brothers then came and threw themselves down before him. "We are your slaves," they said. 19 But Joseph said to them, "Don't be afraid. Am I in the place of God? 20 You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. 21 So then, don't be afraid. I will provide for you and your children." And he reassured them and spoke kindly to them.
Joseph found his strength in the Lord who providentially cared for him.

During June and July, we are going to memorize Psalm 46! This is an exceedingly comforting song of praise. Sons of Korah were worship leaders who wrote a total of 11 psalms.
Martin Luther was inspired by Psalm 46 to write his hymn: “A Mighty Fortress is Our God!” Many scholars believe the psalm may have been written to celebrate the dramatic deliverance of Jerusalem recorded in 2 Kings 18-20.
Psalm 46:1 NIV
God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
The titles for God in this psalm are so very reassuring. Each one highlights the power and protection our God offers to all who trust in Him.
GOD IS OUR REFUGE
Refuge (in various forms) is found 37 times in the Psalms. It is related to the verb “to trust.”
• In Psalm 18:2… a refuge is hiding in a rocky shelter.
• In Psalm 18:30… a refuge is a shield; small but moves quickly by an agile soldier to protect himself.
• In Psalm 57:1… a refuge is the wings of a mother bird protecting her young.
• In Psalm 59:16… a refuge is a fortress, an easily defensible stronghold.
• In Psalm 61:3… a refuge is a high strong tower.
In each of these pictures we are comforted by God’s sure capability and desire to defend His own people. Re-read the list and thank Him for His protection!
