If estrangement is part of your story, I know this turning of the calendar can feel heavy. But I also know this: you still deserve joy. You still deserve peace. And you are allowed to keep living, even with a heart that aches.

You don’t have to stop loving them. You don’t have to pretend it didn’t hurt. But you can start loving yourself more. You can make space for your own healing, one breath, one day at a time.

I’ve been working on a new Thanksgiving song this week, and it has really stirred up some emotions in me.
Trying to feel thankful through estrangement is such a complicated thing.

I am thankful for my daughter… for the years we had, the memories we made, and the love that shaped me as her mom. But the hurt and the anger still sit there too. I think a lot of you know exactly what I mean.
