After reading through the comments on my last video, I realized there’s been a little confusion… some of y’all think I moved back to Mexico.

I have not!

I only returned to Mexico to officially complete my permanent residency process. I’ve actually been living back in my hometown of Atlanta, GA for the past two years. And surprisingly, I don’t see myself leaving anytime soon.

When I first returned to Atlanta, I never imagined I would want to stay. But over the past two years, my life has evolved in ways I couldn’t have predicted. I’ve developed a newfound love and appreciation for my hometown, and instead of researching the next country abroad to move to, I’m fully embracing repatriating.

My years living in Mexico were some of the BEST years of my life. Mexico changed me, healed me, challenged me, and gave me experiences I’ll carry forever. And I still have plenty of stories, lessons, and lived experiences from that chapter that I want to share with you here.

But living in Mexico is no longer my current reality and I want my channel to reflect that as well. My YouTube channel is more than a place to share stories and lessons abroad. It is me intentionally documenting my life in real time.

So you’ll start seeing a pivot around here. More Atlanta. More everyday life. More personal growth. More of my journey of figuring things out, building the life I want, and sharing all the pivots along the way. ✨

I’m incredibly grateful that I was able to finish what I started and officially become a Permanent Resident of Mexico. 🇲🇽 If I ever choose to return, that door is open.
But for right now… Atlanta has my heart. 🤎

I just wanted to clear up the confusion and give y’all a little update on where life has taken me. I hope those of you who originally found me through my Mexico journey will stick around for this next chapter, too.

After all, Pivot Pixie was never supposed to be about one place. It’s about having the courage to pivot when life calls for it.

Week 2 of 52 is officially live. ✨

This week, I had to confront a hard truth: sometimes the biggest thing standing in my way is me.

Not a lack of opportunity. Not other people. Not my circumstances. Me.
In my second blog post, I’m reflecting on what it looks like to get out of my own way. The process of building routines that support the life I say I want, being kinder to myself throughout the process, and holding myself accountable for actually doing the work.

One of the biggest things I’m learning on this journey is that becoming the version of myself I envision isn’t just about setting bigger goals. It’s also about recognizing the habits, thought patterns, and behaviors within myself that have kept me from reaching them.

The journey is very much so me vs. me.

One of my proudest accomplishments of 2026 happened recently: I officially became a Permanent Resident of Mexico🇲🇽

This was five years in the making. It represents a promise I made to myself back in 2021 and my decision to see it through, even when life didn’t go according to plan.

If you’re new here, let me give you the abbreviated version of the story:
In 2021, I moved to Mexico sight unseen. I had never been to Playa del Carmen before. I moved alone, without a job and without a perfectly mapped-out plan. All I had was faith, a little savings, and a whole lot of audacity. 😂
At the time, I just needed to get away and start over. I thought Mexico would be my 3–6 month Eat, Pray, Love sabbatical. Instead, I built a life there that I didn’t want to leave.

I fell in love with the people, the culture, the food, and most importantly, the way life felt. For the first time, I experienced a slower, more intentional way of living. After experiencing that, I couldn’t imagine returning to the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles (where I was based at the time). So I hired an immigration lawyer and began the process of establishing legal residency in Mexico.
And then…life started life-ing. 😭

While living in Mexico, I secured fully remote jobs. When I was laid off from the first, I was fortunate enough to find another and that second job became the best job I’d ever had. I genuinely loved what I did.

Then, two years later, layoffs came again…and this time, I wasn’t able to bounce back as quickly. After months of searching for another job, my six-month savings reserve eventually ran out. I made one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make: I moved back home to Atlanta.

I was devastated.

Not only because I was leaving behind the life I had built, but because I genuinely thought moving back to the U.S. might mean I wouldn’t be able to finish what I started regarding my residency process.

But I kept going.
Despite the layoffs.
Despite leaving Mexico.
Despite the uncertainty.
Despite the process taking 5 YEARS.
I saw it through.

I was able to complete the process and convert my Temporary Resident status to Permanent Resident status.

I’m documenting my 37th year of life one week at a time.

For the next 52 weeks, I intend to write one blog post each week documenting what it actually looks like to bet on myself and build a life that doesn’t depend on a 9-to-5.

I want to document the lessons I’m learning, the wins I’m celebrating, the losses I’m navigating, the money I make (or don’t make 😅), the ideas I try, the discipline I’m building, the mistakes I make, and all the emotions that come with trying to create a life on my own terms.

I don’t have a master plan. I don’t know exactly where I’ll be 52 weeks from now and that’s kind of the point.

I want to be able to look back at these entries a year from now and see the evolution in real time—from where I started to wherever this leap of faith takes me.

Week 1: "From Fun to Fund$" is officially live.

This first entry is about my decision to stop treating my creativity like a hobby and start treating myself like a brand. It’s about turning years of creating for fun into financial freedom.

Here’s to being brave enough to try, being willing to be seen trying, and documenting the whole damn thing along the way.

Where have I been? That's a great question.
I've been living. I've been evolving.

2026 has been one of the most transformative years of my life. So much has changed, and I can't wait to share it with you.

This channel is entering a new chapter.

While I'll always have stories, lessons, and insights from my years living abroad, that season is no longer my everyday reality. Going forward, you'll see more of my current life. The pivots, the mindset shifts, the challenges, and the journey of becoming the woman I'm meant to be.

On August 22, I celebrated my 37th birthday, and for the first time in a long time, I'm genuinely excited about what's ahead. This is the year I become fully self-reliant. I'm betting on myself, trusting my intuition, building a life around my gifts, and documenting the entire journey.

Whether you've been here since the beginning or you're new here, Welcome. I'm so grateful to have you as a member of the Pixie Community.

I'm excited to pour into YouTube again.

Hello,

I had someone comment yesterday asking me why I’m uploading YouTube shorts that are old (2-3 years ago). I realized that the information I was sharing about moving and living abroad is still relevant. During my time in Mexico I used TikTok the most to share my journey abroad. But I realized a few days ago I can also add those TikTok videos to YouTube shorts. So I’ve been doing so. I definitely didn’t meant to cause confusion which is why I’m making this community post for clarity.
