The Neutral Ground Podcast

The neutral ground is a place where we come together for meaningful, civil discourse about the human experience. Our guests come from all over. Although we often discuss serious matters like depression, technology like chatgpt, and crisis in men and humanity, you'll also find time to laugh. We recognize that humor is medicine for the soul. It's okay to smile.

If you're looking for the perfect host, I will likely disappoint. I make mistakes; I stumble with my words. You'll see me struggle for the words sometimes. Just as I tell my students, thinking can be muddy; it can be frustrating. But, it is always rewarding and necessary for growth.

I don't do hot takes or viral videos. I have three goals for every episode: 1) to find the best in my guests; 2) to leave my audience with something to think about; 3) to try and model civil discourse.

Join me, Joe Meyer, on the neutral ground, and let's build a community together.

The Neutral Ground Podcast

Next week, I'll be releasing episode 55 with Dr. Joel Christensen. Here are just a few topics that we dive into--pretty deeply--during our discussion of Homeric psychology and his book: The Many-Minded Man. I would love to hear your thoughtful comments on the questions below. Do you think young adults are lost? Have we lost the purpose of narratives? What do you think? As always, I appreciate all of you who take the time to listen. #homer #myth #mythology
