I help people build a career path in IT because no one helped me with this when I first started IT. IT nerd teaching people how to get into the tech field. There no footprint or guideline on how to start working IT. This is why I started this channel. I post videos on things you need know if you plan on starting a career in tech. My post schedule is Saturday and Sunday.
About Me: I have work experience in an MSP environment, apple store, department of education, and multiple hedge funds. I also have about 12 years of restaurant experience and did 4 years for the NYPD volunteer. I currently work as a security specialist for an msp company but I started out in helpdesk.

Long journey of 9 years to get 100k subscribers. Lot of positive and negative comments.
I never thought I would be on YouTube. I never thought I would change people lives through my videos.
I had people who would make fun of me because of my videos. Some would laugh of me when I said I want to be known for educating people in tech.
I was the most unpopular kid in school and kids would bully me in school.
I'm grateful to God for being where I am today.
Met a lot of amazing people along the way. Got great opportunities to speak.
I even did some amazing talks at Romania, Microsoft, HDI and Spiceworks.
The journey doesn't stop here.

This was 3 years ago. I had a student who just started IT. His first mistake was doubting himself.
I told him"why do you put yourself down?" You can learn this stuff.
It's difficult to work with a student who doesn't believe in himself.
I shared my screen and went over some stuff with him. I told him "you see, you know this stuff". By building his confidence, he was able to sell himself during an interview.
He had zero confidence in himself. I had to pushed him so he can believe in himself. I went David Goggins on him because I know that mindset is all about having the right attitude.
If you walk to a job interview with zero faith in yourself. You already lost the battle.
Keep your head up and never put yourself down. Find people that lift you up in times of need.

If I had to start IT from the beginning with what I know now.
Here's what I would do:
1. Learning fundamentals. I would try to learn and understand operating systems, networking, hardware, software. You need a house with a strong foundation. Otherwise whole house will fall apart. Go back to basics before going to advanced topics.
2. Next thing I would do is focus on picking the right certification for the job I want. Comptia a+ is a good certification for helpdesk roles. I will start with that one.
3. I would build a home lab and add that experience on my resume. You can start with setting up active directory from scratch using Azure, aws, gcp or even vmware or virtual box. Try to learn skills like office 365 office apps, office 365 admin like exchange, SharePoint, teams admin. Also, look at learning a ticketing system, mfa, mda, sccm, intune, entra ID.
4. I would go to conference events and network. Building solid relationships with hiring managers and Directors is important.
5. I would be active on LinkedIn. Remember that someone behind you is always learning. If you post something that can help other people. People will follow you. Try to be a resourceful on LinkedIn. You may be two steps ahead of someone else. You never know.
6. I would volunteer to bsides or even submit a talk. That way hiring managers can see what I'm working on and what I do.
Be an advocate of yourself. No one knows what your doing if you don't say anything.
