💔 How to Turn Rejection Into Redirection ❤️✈️

Hi Aspiring Cabin Crew,

Today I want to talk about something I know many of you struggle with: rejection.

If you’ve recently been turned down by an airline, I want you to know something first - I see you, and I’ve been exactly where you are.

Before I joined Etihad, I was rejected four times. Each one made me question whether I was cut out for this at all. But I kept going, and eventually, one of those “no’s” turned into the best “yes” I could ever ask for.

And here’s the thing I only realised once I was actually onboard: almost everyone I met had a similar story. Colleague after colleague told me about their own rejections, their own years of trying before it finally clicked.

Rejection isn’t the exception in this industry - it’s part of nearly everyone’s journey. You are not alone. ❤️

It’s rarely a “no” forever - it’s often a redirection
Sometimes a rejection isn’t a closed door, it’s a sign that a different airline, or a different timing is actually more aligned with where you’re meant to be.

How do you turn a 'no' into a 'yes'?" 💔❤️

1. Give yourself a moment to feel it. It’s okay to be disappointed. It's okay to be sad.

2. Then get analytical. Look honestly at what might have held you back - was it a specific answer, your presentation, your nerves, your English fluency, not fully meeting the requirements, or even not respecting the cooling-off period?

3. Improve what needs improving. That might mean refining your CV, gaining more hospitality experience, working on your English fluency, sharpening your presentation, or simply building more confidence for next time.

4. In the meantime, don’t put all your hope in one airline. Apply elsewhere too. Every application is a door, and you don’t need to know yet which one will open. Keep multiple doors open at once, it also keeps your momentum alive while you wait.

5. Reapply once you're eligible. As soon as your cooling-off period is finished, give it another shot, more prepared, more confident, and one step closer than you were before.

Hey Future Cabin Crew,

Qatar is hiring right now, and it's opening some incredible doors for cabin crew.

But over and over, in our sessions, I watch candidates talk themselves out of applying.

Not because of anything real. Not because of their experience, their English, their look.

But because of someone else's experience.

When I ask my students why they don't want to apply, I hear the same thing almost every time:

"I heard the environment at Qatar is toxic."

And when I ask, "Who told you that?" it's always someone from TikTok. Or from a Facebook group.

Here's what I've learned after years of working in aviation, and knowing people who actually fly for different airlines right now:

EVERY airline in the world, including the ones you'd never hesitate to apply to, has people who loved it there and people who didn't.

So let me ask you honestly: why are you building your future on someone else's story?

Why let a stranger's bad day, or a bad take made for views, decide what YOUR opportunity could look like?

Why not just try, and find out for yourself?

Let me tell you about one of my students, Sophia. 💜

​Sophia came to me wanting Etihad. That was her dream. But while we were preparing together, Qatar happened to be hiring too. So I told her, why not open that door as well?

It wasn't her first choice, but she applied anyway, and before she was even invited to the next stage with Etihad, she already had an offer letter from Qatar.

Here's the timeline she shared with me few months after our session:

17 May - Qatar Open Day
19 May - Blue background photo requested
1 June - Full-face photos requested
11 June - Offer letter
12 June - Background check
21 June - Travel to Doha confirmed
22 August - Date of joining

Less than four weeks from Open Day to offer letter!

Here’s what she told me later:
“I feel very satisfied and surprised by how much my life changed in just six months, as it was never part of my original life plan. This experience strengthened one important belief for me: there are many different possibilities in life. Understanding yourself, trusting yourself, and acting in alignment with who you truly are can lead to an unexpected future.”

Sophia didn’t wait for certainty. She stayed open, kept moving, and let the process show her what was possible.

Few months later, her life looked completely different, in the best way.

You don’t need certainty to take the next step, you just need to be willing to try.
