No, not that kind! Weâre talking about meditation of course.
Whether youâre a famous pop star or degen gamer, we all need some meditation in our lives đ đ§
It can really help us be present, calm our minds, and understand ourselves more deeply.
It isnât easy though. In fact, itâs common to start and stop, or not want to start at all, because itâs something weâre not used to.
Weâre busy people living in a technology-obsessed world. Weâre constantly trying to be productive or getting distracted or chase that next dopamine hit.
Itâs no wonder slowing down and being mindful is so difficult.
But if youâre looking for a sign to start meditatingâthis is it!
You donât have to be like those monks who meditate for hours at a time. Start with basic meditation a few minutes each day. As you get comfortable with it, you can increase the amount of time you spend meditating.
If you want to understand the history and science behind meditation as well as different practices (different practices work for different people), check out the Meditation module in Dr. Kâs Guide to Mental Health. This could be a good jumping off point for your meditation journey: đ bit.ly/42wCFwB
How do you get motivated? Do you wait for it to hit, or do you take action, even when it feels like youâre trying to push a boulder up a hill?
What often happens is we slowly talk ourselves out of doing the thing we need to do.
Our inner voice can be so good at making us believe we canât achieve our goals. We spiral, and eventually, we start to believe we canât do anything right.
If we convince ourselves we canât do it before we even start, we save ourselves the embarrassment of trying and then failing, which seems worse than not trying at all.
But our brains donât always have our best interests at heart. If we always base our actions on fear, weâd never achieve anything.
Itâs uncomfortable to deal with, but success always comes with failures. You HAVE to stumble and fail before you see results.
For most of us, motivation rarely comes from waiting around. You have to create motivation by doing the thing you donât want to do.
Instead, think about slowly building a habit. If you want to work out more, for example, start by working out 15 minutes a few times a week, then keep increasing the time/frequency.
Start small and keep things interesting by changing up your workouts once in a while. And do it even when youâd rather be doing anything else. You got this! đđ

If youâve ever wondered how đ psychedelics affect your brain, mental health, or healing journey⊠this oneâs for you đ Watch now to learn (and unlearn) what you thought you knew.
Do you ever find yourself trivializing your desires?
Maybe youâre yearning for the love and affection you get from being in a relationship. Maybe itâs more money. More friends. More likes on social media.
We often talk harshly to ourselves. Judging, berating, calling ourselves names.
If we trivialize our desires, we suppress who we really areâŠand that will only come out in unhealthy ways down the road.
When a friend comes to us with a problem or a confession, do we talk to them this way?
If youâre a good friend, youâll try to be supportive and kind. Talk to yourself like you would to a friend. After all, our desires make us human.
For example, if you have the desire to cheat on your partner, it doesnât necessarily make you a bad person. Itâs how you act that determines your character.
Get to the bottom of it. If you want to cheat, you need to examine where that desire is coming from and communicate with your partner about it so you can work things out.
Whether we realize it or not, weâre all on a journey of self-discovery. There are lots of ups and downs. If you want a tool that can guide along your mental healthy journey, check out Dr. Kâs Guide to Mental Health, which includes modules on Trauma, ADHD, Meditation, Anxiety, and Depression: bit.ly/3XZp9yG đ
