Nyi Nyi Zaw, 23, wrote the poem "Am I lost?", after speaking to two siblings at a camp for people displaced by conflict in northern Myanmar as part of his role as a UNICEF-supported youth reporter.
“I’m not a writer nor a poet, but I did my best to grab even just a glimpse of hope to highlight the emotions and lives of children where the word ‘peace’ seems like it only exists in the dictionary,” he says.
The poem was inspired after the older brother told Nyi Nyi Zaw, “I’m not lost. Our lives are not lost.”
