Arasu Engineering College, Kumbakonam is established by Sri Thirunavukkarasu Dhanalakshmi Educational and Charitable Trust. It was registered as a public charitable trust in the year 2000 to serve the society. The trust is doing yeomen service in the field of Technical Education and Research.
It is the first Engineering College started in the Kumbakonam. It was started with the aim to accelerate academic, social and economic development. It is one of the leading Engineering colleges affiliated to the Anna University, Chennai. The Campus is spread over an area of 50 acres with gorgeous background of Temples. The Fresh air, sweet medicated water from Cauvery River. The Serene area provides pleasant atmosphere for the students to concentrate well on their studies.

The National Service Scheme (NSS), Arasu Engineering College, Kumbakonam organized an awareness and motivational programme on 04.02.2026 at Sri Ramakrishna Math, Thanjavur, with the participation of 130 students. Swami Vimurthanandar, Dr. S. Azhagan (Founder, Vivekanandam Vidyashram (CBSE), Thiruvarur; Founder & CEO, CentumAPP and Centum Edutech Pvt. Ltd.) and Mathav Sethu Rajan (CEO & Founder, Terabyte India Groups) participated as chief guests and delivered inspiring addresses. As part of the programme, a debate on the topic “Do social media platforms help youth grow, or do they distract them?” was conducted, encouraging students to express their views and think critically. The programme concluded successfully with a silent walk, awareness videos, and mind-focusing practices.

Arasu Engineering College, in association with PALS, successfully organized the “Think2Impact – Industry Problem Solving Workshop” on 02 February 2026 at the college auditorium. The one-day industry-connected workshop aimed to provide students with hands-on experience in solving real-world industry problems and presenting their solutions to industry experts.The program commenced with an invocation, followed by a welcome address delivered by Dr. R. Pazhanimurugan, HoD/EEE and EC Member – PALS. The inaugural session was presided over by the respected Principal, Dr. T. Balamurugan, who delivered an inspiring Presidential Address emphasizing the crucial role of engineers in addressing real-world challenges.
The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from 137 students representing 11 engineering colleges, making the event a vibrant platform for interdisciplinary interaction and innovation.
Distinguished industry experts and PALS representatives — Mr. Arun Kumar (CADD Centre), Mr. Ravindran (Engineering Manager, Product Technology Support), Ms. Rajasree (Ex-IBM & Independent Consultant), Mr. P. R. Ramesh (PALS Champion), Mr. Ramaswamy (PALS Champion), Mr. Robin (PALS PMO), Mr. Kishore (PALS PMO), and representatives from Naandi Foundation — graced the occasion. The dignitaries were honored by the Principal, Dr. T. Balamurugan; Dr. M. Rukmangathan, Dean of Academics; and the PALS team.Expert sessions were conducted by Mr. Pathy, Mr. P. R. Ramesh, and Mr. Rajesh Kumar (CADD Centre), who shared valuable industry insights and practical perspectives. Participants actively engaged in team-based problem-solving activities, followed by jury evaluation and deliberation.
During the valediction ceremony, winners were announced by Mr. Robin, PALS PMO. Arasu Engineering College secured the Third Prize in the Core Engineering category and the Second Prize in the IT category, bringing great honor to the institution. Prizes and certificates were distributed to the winning teams and all participants.The program concluded with participant reflections, a vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Kaviarasu, Assistant Professor and EC Member – PALS, and the National Anthem. The workshop was widely appreciated for its practical impact and its significant contribution to strengthening industry–academia collaboration.
The EC members of Arasu Engineering College express their heartfelt gratitude to the Management and PALS Team, Principal, Dean of Academics, industry delegates, Heads of various departments, teaching and nonteaching staff members, hostel wardens, student volunteers, and participants from various engineering colleges for their support and cooperation in the successful conduct of the event.
