How much do you know about Kasuti embroidery?
Originating in Karnataka, Kasuti is a meticulous hand embroidery tradition known for its geometric precision and motifs inspired by temple architecture, nature, and everyday life. What makes it particularly fascinating is that the designs are created by counting the threads of the fabric, rather than simply following a drawn outline.
The motifs — gopurams, chariots, palanquins, elephants, peacocks, parrots, marigolds, cradles and more — drawing from Karnataka’s temples, natural surroundings, religious traditions and everyday life.
Swipe through to discover the stitches, motifs and intricate details that make Kasuti one of Karnataka’s most remarkable embroidery traditions.

Rath Yatra is more than a grand procession, it's also deeply connected to one of India's oldest art traditions, Pattachitra.
Every year, Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Subhadra journey through the streets of Puri, symbolizing devotion, equality, and community.
What many don't know is that Pattachitra artists have been painting the stories of Lord Jagannath and Rath Yatra for centuries. During the sacred Anasara period, when the temple deities are not available for public darshan, devotees worship beautifully hand-painted Anasara Patti paintings instead.
It's a beautiful reminder that in India, art has always been more than decoration—it's devotion, storytelling, and living heritage.
✨ Wishing you a blessed Rath Yatra!
