Today is the 100th anniversary of the first performance of George Gershwin's Rhapsody In Blue when Gershwin performed the Rhapsody with the Paul Whiteman orchestra at Aeolian Hall in New York City. This recording in the orthophonic recording made in 1927 with Gershwin and Paul Whiteman. There is also an acoustic version from 1924, but this one has much superior sound. Happy 100th Rhapsody In Blue!
