Today We Celebrate:
The Visitation is found in Luke 1:39–56 in the Bible.
It takes place shortly after the Annunciation.
Mary visits Elizabeth in Judea, believed to be in a town in the hill country.
Elizabeth was six months pregnant with John the Baptist.
The encounter is considered a meeting between Jesus and John the Baptist in the womb.
Elizabeth's greeting includes the words later used in the Hail Mary prayer.
Mary responds with the Magnificat, a poetic praise to God.
The event reflects themes of joy, humility, and divine grace.
The Catholic Church celebrates this feast on May 31st.
It is one of the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary.

Today We Celebrate:
The Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a Christian event described in the Gospel of Luke (Luke 1:39–56), where the Virgin Mary visits her cousin Elizabeth shortly after the Annunciation (when the Angel Gabriel told Mary she would be the mother of Jesus). When Mary arrives, Elizabeth, who is pregnant with John the Baptist, feels her baby leap in her womb, and she is filled with the Holy Spirit. Elizabeth recognizes Mary as "the mother of my Lord." Mary responds with the Magnificat, a hymn of praise to God.
This event emphasizes humility, faith, joy, and the recognition of God’s presence. It is celebrated in the Roman Catholic Church on May 31st.
