Want To Sea The World

Two best friends and travel business partners Carlos Quist and Tony Powell have been on a Nomadic Journey since 2019.

We are Want To Sea The World! We've chosen to scuba dive everywhere that we have traveled. The journey began with a one-way ticket to Malaysia. Since then, we have been diving in 16 countries, traversed 5 continents, and created a community with which to share our journey. We've only just dipped our toes into the vastness of the ocean. Want to Sea the World with us?

One of major goals in establishing this YouTube Channel is to create community. A community to engage, to learn with, and Sea The World together! This channel creates the opportunity for viewers to share our scuba diving journey with us, as well as create their own scuba diving trips with our guidance. We want to inspire our community and ourselves to open the door and take the step. Who else will take up the call and Sea The World for themselves!

"Our most remote destination on this Maldivian voyage! South Ari Atoll was an incredible diving destination. The topography, the massive schools of fish, and the beauty of the views both above and below the water stood out! Truly breathtaking! Our levels of excitement were high on every dive. Each day has its ups and downs, and today was adrenaline charged and full of excitement as well as sobering in another respect. We came across a large graveyard of Table Corals while searching for a Whale Shark. Apparently, these corals had experienced a massive die out in the last year and a half. As divers, we want to experience that vibrant living coral, and it's concerning that this beautiful remote destination is experiencing stress. However, we want to experience the reality of the circumstances that we are faced with. That is what this vlog journey is all about, giving a slice of perspective of the true experiences that we are having in the process of Seaing the World. We ended this day August 26th on a remote sandbank in the middle of the Indian Ocean. I'm grateful to continue on this journey with this community and bring more awareness and opportunities to engage with the ocean. We will be sure to inform this community of upcoming opportunities to participate in group diving and nature conservation trips that we intend to organize. We want to Sea the World and part of that journey includes healing the world! Keep an eye out for coral restoration and other engaging opportunities with Want To Sea The World! Share this post for another chance to enter our plane ticket raffle and join us March of 2026 in Mexico!"

"This was our experience on August 23rd aboard the Nautilus Two in Maldives. We crossed from Male to Rasdhoo and now to North Ari Atoll. The topography continues changing with many different pinnacles and channels to explore. Each day has its particular highlight and without a doubt the evening Manta Ray feeding after watching the beautiful sunset inside the tub was something to remember. We are grateful to have chosen to experience something new by traveling to Maldives and embarking on this Liveaboard journey. So many opportunities along the way to have chosen otherwise, and yet something inspired us and drew us to make the choices that we made. Reflecting on it, it seems like pure chance but every choice along the way is full of intention, and each experience gained from those choices is another opportunity to learn and grow. Thankful to continue on the journey itself as well as in the production of artistry with the memories that we catch on film. Thanks for another excellent August diving trip Tony! Salud to the next and to many more to come! Thanks to this community for participating by viewing this video, enjoying the continual development that Tony and I are invested in, and getting inspired to execute actions that lead to your own vision of Want To Sea The World."

"Do you Sea yourself aboard the Nautilus Two? We want to share this dream with a motivated team of world travelers. There are so many liveaboard trips all around the world that are creating once in a lifetime lifechanging memories. This is the tenth liveaboard trip that we have had the privilege and the opportunity to embark on, and it continues to shape our perspective that liveaboard travel is one of the best ways to scuba dive. We are planning a trip to Cozumel this March/April timeframe in order to continue taking the steps towards organizing a group liveaboard adventure. One of the key steps in my mind is to build the diving experience of our community members. In order to dive on a liveaboard, many require an advanced open water diver certificate. Some require a particular number of logged dives to ensure that the team of divers is competent enough. So, let's manifest this dream together! Come to Cozumel and build up diving experience with us. Get your Open Water! Get your Advanced! Continue diving deeper into the enriching experiences that the ocean has to offer us! Already our team is coming together, I'm so excited to continue announcing the details of our success to this community. More information to come regarding group travel. If you are interested in participating, message Want To Sea The World directly and start planning your journey. Happy Bubbles everyone!"

"Continuing this Liveaboard Vlogging Journey with our experiences on the 21st of August. This liveaboard was the reason we chose to come to Maldives. We had heard many stories of the incredible world class diving that the country has to offer, and we were determined to sea for ourselves what we would find. The experience diving Shark Tank and Manta Point and turning 26 years old, experiencing diving in the Indian Ocean for the first time, the uniqueness of the connections and the encounters is incredibly special. From this trip we have built tons of inspiration for future scuba diving experiences, as well as honed and refined our skillset in order to tackle those future endeavors. We've begun the exciting challenge of vlogging the journey along the way and giving even more insight and value to the content that we produce. We imagine our community continuing to enjoy the memories that we put together and wanting to Find Themselves in this Water! As we build on the trips that we have shared already, more opportunities to participate and Scuba Dive are developing. Please message Want To Sea The World directly to sign up for community travel experiences soon upcoming."

"Our experience in Maldives began with a rocky start. We flew from Thailand through Mumbai and landed in Malé on August 19th, one day before the intended departure of the Nautilus Two Liveaboard on August 20th. Upon arrival, we waited for our checked baggage at baggage claim as we always do. After all of the bags had been claimed, my bag, containing all of my diving gear and underwater photography equipment, was nowhere to be found. We approached the service desk to find out what was going on, and they casually informed us that my bag was still in India. It never made it on the flight to Malé; it somehow ended up on a flight to Bangalore instead. We filled out some paperwork and began the claim to attempt to get the baggage to the right place.

The intention all along had been to utilize this gear to dive throughout the time in Maldives and to capture the experiences underwater. There was a momentary feeling of loss, as we contemplated what life might be like in a world where that bag is never seen by us again. We quickly rallied and reminded ourselves that everything happens for a reason. To continue moving forward and trust that the bag will arrive by the next day is the only power in our control. When travelling, the unexpected always has the potential to occur. What is important is how one chooses to react. Many other passengers aboard the same flight also experienced baggage issues. It was clear looking around us at the others gathered around the service desk that there was a reason to be outraged. That energy expenditure was not going to make a difference in the mission of regaining the lost luggage. What was going to make a difference was getting some rest and taking care of some basic needs that had been neglected throughout the lengthy travels. We caught a cab, left the airport with our paperwork, and regrouped at our accommodation for the night.

After having the opportunity to experience the stress of lost luggage and grow through that, the baggage arrived the next day in the morning! Just in time for us to meet up with the Nautilus Two Crew. It was a relief and a joy to see the bag. We were able to board the ship with all of our equipment as originally intended. It was awesome to have the opportunity to acknowledge that we would have been alright had it not arrived and yet we were grateful for the intention met. We met up with Kumam, and continued our Maldivian experience without a hitch. Boarded the Nautilus One which ferried us over to the Nautilus Two. A truly beautiful ship! We really appreciated the unique traditional aesthetic, the spacious room and warm shower, and the comfortable decks and lounge areas. Diving from the Dhoni was a pleasure! We performed our 1st dive on August 20th, a single check dive at a dive site named Kurumba. Ay Kurumba! Right away we were greeted by multiple Black Tip Reef Sharks. It's awesome to begin a liveaboard journey with awesome diving, an awe-inspiring vessel, and all of the equipment to enjoy to the fullest!

We had a lot of fun this August vlogging each day aboard the Nautilus Two Liveaboard. We are excited to share this video series with this community and give another layer of insight and reflection to the experiences that we have while on our mission to Sea The World. Happy Bubbles, everybody! Join us for our next Vlog entry - August 21st Aboard the Nautilus Two."

"Join Tony and Carlos aboard the Nautilus Two on this 10-day liveaboard adventure to Sea Maldives! This was our first time diving in this country and the diving experience that we had here was unique.

Maldives stands out as the place where we have seen the most quantity of Manta Rays and Stingrays. At two special dive sites, Shark Tank and Manta Point, we saw an incredible quantity of Rays. At Shark Tank we saw more than 50 humongous stingrays, the sheer size of them dwarfing any but the biggest stingrays we've seen elsewhere. The Marbled Rays, which we affectionately called Quarter Pounders, were 2 or 3 times bigger than Tony! Shark Tank also blessed us with a Tiger Shark, the 1st that we've ever seen.

Manta Point was full of Manta Ray activity! From the surface we could see them acrobatically dancing in the water below. We jumped in and were immediately surrounded by 7 Manta Rays. To see one Manta on a dive is something we would consider fortunate. To see 7 Mantas all together, dancing, feeding, and playing in the bubble stream is incredibly lucky. The up-close encounter with these animals is definitely worthy of note. The abundance of marine wildlife of this island nation stands out.

The beautiful boat, Nautilus Two, is accompanied by the Nautilus One, the diving Dhoni. The Dhoni is the vessel that assists the divers in getting to and from the dive sites. Dhoni diving is quite comfortable! All of the gear and wet equipment stays on the Dhoni, while the main ship stays dry and comfortable. Truly luxury liveaboard diving!

The majority of the days we dove 3 dives per day, and there were a few night dives incorporated into that diving schedule. The night diving experience that stands out above all others was the filter-feeding Mantas at Fasdhoo Lagoon. We parked the main ship inside the lagoon and began projecting strong lights into the water to attract phytoplankton and other microscopic organisms in the water. This attraction of micro-organisms brings with it big and small animals that feast on the abundance brought by the light. Tiny crustaceans and smaller marine animals bring larger hunters who are looking for a late-night snack. Manta Rays are attracted by the abundant micro-organisms and open their humongous mouths to eat up all the little nutrients. We dove into the activity, ready for anything that might come out of the darkness to greet us.

Our intention was to set a line of lights underwater to create the perfect feeding ground for the Manta Rays to cruise through. We set our lights and waited a few moments for the micro-organisms to accumulate, and the Mantas responded as if on cue. They saw the perfect feeding grounds, and they descended to feast. Pass after pass, flipping and flapping right by our faces. An incredible quantity of mantas, it was impossible to count. An unforgettable night diving experience, undoubtedly a highlight in our diving careers.

We would describe diving in Maldives as unique diving experiences full of abundant wildlife, with an extra helping of opportunities to practice improvement as scuba divers and underwater videographers under strong current and challenging topography. The diving experience in this country was epic in its challenge and its reward. To continue Wanting To Sea The World we choose to push the envelope on our skills underwater. To embark on long voyages that challenge our diving endurance. To dive together in the most remote corners of the world and find the joy in the process of adversity."

"This is where Tony and I have been celebrating August to the max! We took a flight from Denver to Tokyo, and then Tokyo to Bangkok. Spent one night in Bangkok and then took an overnight bus to Phuket.

This is our first time spending a significant amount of time in Phuket, and we choose to spend the time at Noi's Happy Place near Ao Yon Beach. Phuket is a super big and busy island! Thankfully we found Noi's Happy Place and the surrounding area to be an amazing, secluded, hidden gem. To those traveling through Phuket, I would recommend Noi's for the close access to the beach, the wonderful views, and the laid-back chill vibes. This property is also extremely close to the Phuket Marina, only 5 minutes' drive, making for easy access to day diving and liveaboards.

When we got to the property, we still had yet to book our diving, and we only had 2 days to figure it out! Thankfully because of the convenient location and our travel savvy know how, we met our August 1st diving intention in a way where we even found ourselves impressed. We continue to impress ourselves as we fly off the seat of the pants, breathing in scuba bubbles along the way! The 4-day liveaboard on the Manta Queen 1 seemed like an unattainable dream at a certain point, until we achieved it. Thankful to continue seeing that beautiful reflection of manifesting and executing our dreams in this community.

Back to the Happy Place to recharge by the ocean, eat some incredible food, and take the time to slow down. I feel that the time was taken advantage of and spent well. Our final evening in Phuket, one last visit to the ocean and a farewell to Ao Yon beach. We drove up the hill to Kao Khad viewpoint in the morning to take in the panorama once more. Step by step we returned our motorbike, packed our belongings, and found transportation to take us onward to the airport. Yet another long stint of crazy travels!

From the Krabi airport we flew to Mumbai, and from Mumbai on to Malé, Maldives. This is our first time visiting and diving in Maldives. We are super excited to see how it differs from diving elsewhere in the world, what unique features and marine animals will we sea! We just landed in Maldives, and we embark aboard the Nautilus Two Liveaboard tomorrow for a 10-day diving Liveaboard. We return at the very end of August and intend to post again beginning in September. Feeling inspired by these liveaboard experiences to embark on such a journey as a team of Want To Sea The World divers. We are starting to put together a list of people who will choose to participate in our 1st of such endeavors. We would love to get together at least 10 participants and start to build that dream together as a community. There is plenty of time to plan, and time to build up our diving experience and confidence together as well. Let's start somewhere! Expressing that we want to do it and be there for it is one of the first steps in making it happen. That is how Tony and I have gotten this far, and by setting that example and encouraging others to follow through their own individual path we trust that every desire held by our community can be fulfilled. We love you guys, we are proud to be inspired by you, and we hope to reflect that inspiration in the mirror!"

"Celebrating August this year, Tony and I chose to embark on a journey beginning in Thailand and cross our fingers and see what came of that choice. Boldly taking action continues to lead us in the direction of the manifestation of our dreams. You never know how something will turn out until you are in the present moment faced with the life that you have chosen. I'm so glad to continue choosing to Sea The World with the best network of friends who make it possible. This liveaboard aboard the Manta Queen 1 took us to ten of the best dive sites between Phuket and Phi Phi Islands. The friendly staff and comfortable accommodations made the journey smooth. Delicious food kept us energized every day to continue to dive, sleep, eat, and repeat. Awesome marine animals kept us engaged underwater with opportunities to see Octopus, Stingrays, Eels, and many fish big and small! I hope to return and dive with more Want To Sea The World members on a trip such as this. Let's make that dream happen together! Thankful to all of you who take up the call to Want To Sea The World. Happy birthday Tony! August 1st on a Thai Liveaboard in 2025 will be remembered! As this journey comes to a close, the next is already beginning. Diving in Maldives and celebrating August 21st. The more we continue to persevere and seek opportunities to Sea The World, the more they will find US in the water"

"Celebrating August this year, Tony and I chose to embark on a journey beginning in Thailand and cross our fingers and see what came of that choice. We set out with the intention to find ourselves aboard a Liveaboard and to be diving on the 1st of August, Tony's birthday. We contacted KSA Liveaboard one day before the Manta Queen 1 departed on July 29th, and they expeditiously arranged for us to participate in this excellent 4-day Liveaboard experience. We are very grateful to have chosen this team, this boat, and this opportunity to find ourselves in this water. It was my first opportunity to utilize a new camera and underwater housing setup. These are the photos that came of the trip! It was incredible to have the time over the course of the 4 days to learn this system underwater. The connections that were made with the marine life and with our fellow divers aboard the ship are things that we cherish and will take with us moving forward into the future. We look forward to expanding on what Want To Sea The World is already offering with the opportunity to participate in group liveaboard trips! Thailand and Egypt have been discussed as viable options; we continue to find inspiration from our community and from the new connections we encounter on the travels we are taking. Let's continue Seaing the World TOGETHER! Thank you to the KSA Liveaboard dive team and boat staff for making this a trip to remember and one to repeat"
