Practical experience India post and Shiprocket


I am giving you practical example by comparing Shiprocket charges (via website) and India Post charges(via going to post office and doing weight)
If we ship by Shiprocket they calculate the volumetric value and India post actual weighs the parcel.
My recent parcel shipped to Visakhapatnam.
1) When I calculated via Shiprocket it charged me Rs. 238. Weight was 3kg (Delhivery courier)
Here the pickup person comes at ur place. Here you have to be ready with parcel along with printouts of bill and manifest.
But due to covid, the clients pincode was under Essentials Area. So didn't shipped my them.
2) We shipped via India Post...They weight was 870gms. The parcel cost was Rs.142. Here we have to go to Post office and submit. No need of prints etc. The parcel reached safe but was little damage as the box was corrigated and monsoon season.
It delivered at destination in 4 days.

I got a Question : Which is cheaper and what do I prefer to ship the parcels👇🏻

I am giving a practical example by calculating costs on India Post Calculator & the recent parcel I have sent via shiprocket.
Lets consider the Parcel is same in dimensions (34, 23, 21) and send on same pincode... Mumbai to Delhi & weight is 3.2kg
1) Now I ship with shiprocket and selected Delhivery as courier service:
Charges are Rs.238

2) Now if yehi parcel agar mai India Post se ship karti..then
Postage Charges : Rs.320
Proof of Delivery : Rs. 10
GST: Rs. 59
Total Charges : Rs. 389

Now while shipping with Shiprocket, the pickup person comes at our place for pickup.

But India post se agar kar na hai..I have to go post office, jo filhal possible nahi hai.

Now as far as my knowledge Shiprocket has no Issurance policy. Where as India Post mai Insurance policy hai for that particular parcel. If parcel gets lost they will pay you the amount. but Insurance charges you have to pay along with shipping charges if you opt for Insurance.
Insurance charges : Rs.298 + 389(shipping charge)

So by considering all this, for me shipping through Shiprocket easy hai🙂. India Post ka Insurance I haven't tried yet. so I dont have idea about the payment. But yes, agar parcel ko apne insurance opt kiya, and parcel lost nahi hua or damage nahi hua..toh Insurance ke paise India post ke honge, they will not return you, your insurance amount.
I prefer shiprocket, its home pickup and being a mom I cannot go to office and stand in long queue, due to covid I tried shiprocket & my 14 parcels are shipped perfectly to the destination.
If at all I get bad experience of Shiprocket definitely uske upar video banungi😁😊
