I need your help naming this piece! 💫

When I painted this watercolor last year, I was contemplating humanity's journey from the Age of Taurus - with its focus on material accumulation and sensory experience - into our current age where we're called to break free from those chains.

The bull skull represents what remains from that era. We can't erase our past, but we can transcend it. The seven sacred rays of Light adorn the horns, symbolizing the different qualities of consciousness available to us. Above, the golden eagle and sun represent the spiritual heights we're meant to reach.

The original sold last spring, and I'd like to offer it as a print. But I'm torn on the title! The original title was "No More Bull" - which has a playful edge but may not capture the depth of the work.

This is the inner sun. The seed of light within your heart that burns brighter with each step forward through the darkness.

📣RANT ALERT: I try not to get political on social media. But things are heating up, and rants keep showing up in my feed. Today I finally had enough. Read my counter-rant if you dare (it addresses something I think art can help with):

Funny thing. I'm hearing similar rhetoric from BOTH sides of the political aisle. Each paints pictures of outrage. Each claims to have the moral upper hand. Each claims to be led by love.

In a way each does have a legitimate claim of being led by love. I've witnessed genuine caring on BOTH sides, for others and for humanity. But we've moved into a space where neither side seems capable of seeing and acknowledging the love in the other.

What if instead of focusing on all the outrageous things about the "other side", what if instead we were to start looking for the love that is also there? What if we were to open our ears for it, be willing to search through language that doesn't resonate with us, and ideas we don't believe in, to seek and find the common ground, the common thread of love and human decency that exists in the regular human beings all around us - our neighbors, our co-workers, our families?

What if, when we hear an opinion we don't share, we were to take a little time to ask the person why they feel that way? And instead of knee-jerk rejecting their reply, to ask clarifying questions, to dig a little deeper, to sift through the buzzwords and the implanted narratives to find that common ground?

I have friends on both sides of the political aisle. And one thing I can say for sure is that most people are decent at heart. Most people just want to feel that they and their families are safe, and be free to follow their hearts. They want the basic things in life - decent food, a roof over their heads, and a sense of family, connection, and purpose. Simple things.

Why are we making this so hard? Why can't we see this in each other?

There are forces in this world that profit from chaos, from uncertainty, from dividing people against each other. Because these forces are all about power and don't understand love, they tend to pull the strings of power in the world. Including the media and social algorithms.

While it's true that terrible things are happening in the world, I don't think it's always happening the way it's painted. What if the most terrible thing happening was not the events that are reported on, but the division that is being driven around them? What would happen if the common people around the world learned to unite around what really matters?

What would happen if instead of continuing to focus always on what's wrong in each other, we started focusing on finding that common ground? The common thread of human decency and love that exists in every heart?

Can we agree to disagree on everything but THAT, and then start building something new from there? What kind of world would we start to see emerging?

Have you noticed that it's becoming harder and harder to know what's true and what isn't?
This world at this time is a mirror world, reflecting an inverted image of reality.
Don't look "out there" for answers. Becoming still, your own heart will show you the way.
