The universe works in mysterious ways.

There is an old Chinese story about a man who had a beautiful mare. One day she ran away and his friends ran to his side to commiserate. But he just smiled and said, "who knows, this could be a blessing in disguise."

A few days later the mare came back accompanied by a magnificent stallion. The man's friends were quick to congratulate him on his good fortune. But he simply said, "you never know, this could turn out to be a curse."

Not long after, the man's son went out to ride the stallion. On their way home the animal spooked and threw the boy off, permanently injuring him to the point of needing crutches to walk. Again, the man's friends rushed to offer their condolences. And again, the man smiled and said, "you never know when such a thing could be a blessing."

A year later, war broke out in the land. Before long, soldiers came through the town and forced all the young men to join the army and go away to fight. Most of them never returned. But this man's son was passed up as useless.

Deprived of a sound body, the boy became a gifted scholar known throughout the land, married and had many children. The man thus enjoyed the blessing of a large family and many grandchildren who loved and cared for him the rest of his living days.

We can't always see the good in things from our limited perspective, and we never know what God has in store for us when certain things come about.

Whether you are celebrating or mourning the results of the election, I'd like to invite you to trust that the Universe has got this, and direct your own energy to visualizing a beautiful future. 🙂

So excited to share my recent interview with ‪@celineodonovan‬ . I was surprised to learn I was only the first or second American to be interviewed by this amazing Irish podcaster.

She is so insightful and led the conversation in sometimes surprising ways into topics like exploring the sacred, human evolution, balancing masculine and feminine energies, and finding your purpose. She also got me to explain the meaning of my recent painting featuring the Stag spirit animal.
