This month’s edition of CA Connect reflects a rare alignment in global monetary policy. After rate cuts in September and October, the US Federal Reserve held rates steady in November, a stance echoed by the UK and Europe.


Inflation continued to cool across much of the West, while China remained subdued. Global equities took a breather after a strong run. In commodities, gold stayed elevated, silver edged higher, oil softened, and soybean prices remained firm, marking a month where metals strengthened, energy weakened, and food prices stayed high.


The US House voted to end the government shutdown after 43 days, bringing a prolonged episode to a close.
