Does anyone think I could be WARM?

Despite having had three digital colour analyses done over the years and every one of them said I am COOL, I still have some doubts about whether I could be WARM. But when I have shown myself in warm makeup and clothing, so many of you have said 'that's not your colour'.

Here I am draped in official seasonal drapes, one colour pair from each season.

I’m not sure if it’s the video lighting but I really love today’s makeup look now it’s settled into my face! A few people have said they don’t like it in today’s video. Oh well, can’t win ‘em all 🤷‍♀️

The hair is super short because it turns out you just can’t home dye cool toned grey hair without it going orange or red… so I say BRING ON THE GREY 👵🏼

I’m so excited to tell you that I have started a course in colour analysis, and will very soon be doing my own colour analysis and draping for the course!

I’ve already been playing with the seasonal colour drapes and I think I finally know what season I am 😉

Hello everyone 👋

I’m taking a week or two off YouTube to recover and regroup. I’m having some health troubles, not least of which is a red and inflamed eye which is sensitive to light and won’t be pleasant to look at on camera 😂

I’m taking the time to reflect on my life choices and where I am going next. I have some exciting thoughts and plans already but I will update you all once I’m ready to come back.

Feel free to watch some of the older videos in my back catalogue while I’m gone, but please be kind 🙏, this YouTube thing is hard. The learning curve to set up cameras, lights, edit videos and create thumbnails as well as applying makeup in public as a non-mua… well, let’s just say it’s important to be ok with making mistakes in public 😂

Thankfully my curiosity is stronger than my fear of failure or embarrassment 🫶 and your comments make being here so totally worth while ❤️

You can expect a conscious upgrade in skills and experience on my part, in the coming year and I hope it will translate into better, more educational and more entertaining videos for you in the future!

I GIVE UP! 🤦‍♀️

I cannot find my colour season.

I am not dark enough for cool winter nor am I light enough for true summer.

I think some colours from either palette work, but not all.

I have no choice but to just continue testing colours and through trial and error, find out what works.

It is so frustrating to be sold the promise of an easy solution… get a colour analysis done and never have to think about what colours to wear ever again. For me, it just hasn’t been true.

Changing your hair colour certainly affects what colours look good, as a blonde I could wear lighter colours easily, but as a brunette I have to switch to deeper tones to maintain harmony.

The only rule that does work is to avoid warm tones, but even this isn’t hard and fast, since some warm foundations look good and I can even get away with a little bit of warmth on my face, eyeshadow for example.

I am starting to declutter too warm clothes and makeup, as the one thing I can say for sure is that warm hair tones look awful.

Thank you to everyone for travelling on this strange journey with me. There are no clear answer but I hope you’re finding it fun anyways!
