You’re stranded on an island, but somehow the Wi-Fi is excellent. Rescue won’t arrive for three hours, so obviously you spend the time watching a true crime documentary.
Which subgenre are you choosing?

Hello all, it’s Tuesday, and of course that means it’s time for our weekly poll. This time, we are looking at serial killer stats.
Based on FBI data, and analysis from the Radford/FGCU Serial Killer Database, which U.S. State has the highest number of convicted serial killers [total count, NOT by capita]?
Answer will be pinned in the comments section as soon as we reach 1,000 votes.
NOTE: This poll is based on the post-2005 FBI threshold of two or more victims, in separate events, with a cooling-off period between offenses. [Former threshold was 3+ victims]

In case you missed it, a Colorado appellate court just overturned Leticia Stauch's murder conviction for the January 2020 killing of her stepson, Gannon Stauch.
This isn't a case we've covered on this channel, but it's well known in the true crime world.
The appeals court ruled that she deserves a new trial because, essentially, one of the jurors had a son-in-law who worked as a deputy district attorney in the same office as the prosecutor who tried the case. That's the kind of conflict that can raise serious questions about a fair trial, and the court agreed.
Leticia remains at the Denver Women's Correctional Facility while the legal process moves forward.

CASE UPDATE: ARIANNA GAJRAJ
LINK: https://youtu.be/rQE_yuh4waU
Folks, I’ve read a lot of sentencing transcripts, but this one genuinely surprised me.
Arianna Gajraj, the woman who partnered with her ex to lure her own friend into a deadly trap, just got sentenced on March 9. Her number? 36 months in jail/72 probation.
Three years. That is the price tag for setting the stage for murder. After credit for time already served, she has less than a year and a half remaining on her sentence.
Her boyfriend, Brandon Pirela, was found guilty by a jury in January and is currently awaiting his own sentencing, scheduled for April 7. He was found guilty of ATTEMPTED FIRST DEGREE MURDER WITH A FIREARM-POSS/DISCHRG and CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT FIRST DEGREE MURDER.
He faces a possible maximum sentence of Life in prison, with guaranteed decades behind bars before he ever sees a parole board.

Hey everyone, we're dropping a new one today, and this one's a mind-bender.
TITLE: Cornered Suspect Reaches Breaking Point
LINK: https://youtu.be/aRac_-iAW44
Washington detectives confront a double homicide suspect with the evidence they've built against him, and the interrogation takes a drastic turn. Flashes of anger, sudden detachment, and at one point he starts referring to himself in the third person.
Is it a genuine psychological break or a calculated move? Honestly, a case can be made either way, and we definitely want to know what you think.
This is one of the more fascinating interrogations we've come across in a while. Don't sleep on this one.
Also, you may have noticed our upload schedule has been a little inconsistent lately. We're intentionally experimenting with different days and times, reviewing the data, and tweaking until we find what works best for you guys. Please bear with us while we dial it in.
Drop your thoughts in the comments. Real or not? Let's hear it. 👇

In the case of Natalie Fonseca & Nafis Reynolds, [He Thought It Was a Date: https://youtu.be/oQYQG8kA-CY], both were originally charged with Attempted first-degree murder.
However, after a plea deal, they walked away with 30-year sentences for the Escambia River bridge attack. They will have to serve 25.5 years before parole eligibility.
Do you believe the state should have risked a trial to get Life?
