What if I told you the glass on your smartphone might never have existed without a forgotten invention and one man’s relentless vision?
In 2007, while developing the first iPhone, Steve Jobs faced a critical challenge: Plastic screens were too prone to scratches, and no glass on the market was shatterproof and scratch-resistant.
That's when one of Job's friends, who was a board member at Corning Glass, introduced him to Corning's CEO - Wendel Weeks!
They met, and Jobs declared - We want to use Gorilla glass for the iPhone, and we need it in the next 6 months,
Weeks hesitated and pointed out two major problems:
1. Gorilla Glass was just a prototype and had never been mass-produced.
2. Corning had stopped making it entirely because no one wanted it.
and Jobs being Jobs said - "Don’t be afraid. You can do it."
So Corning put together their best minds and converted a LCD Factory to mass manufacture Gorilla Glass,
and today - About 6 BILLION devices use Gorilla Glass, and Gorilla Glass makes up to ~12% of Corning's revenues!
This isn’t just a story about glass; it’s about vision, persistence, and turning forgotten ideas into groundbreaking innovations.
What untapped potential might you be overlooking? 🚀
PS - It's the same company that manufactured glass for the "Edison Bulb" in 1879.

We worked with "The Indian Army"
Stoned Santa is proud to share that we had the incredible opportunity to create "Custom Caricatures" for the Indian Army.
A few weeks back, Major Amrit Singh Pal, reached out to us, looking for Caricatures for his regiment to celebrate their regiment's 10 Year Anniversary.
Each Caricature had 3 elements to it -
1. A Black & White caricatured version of the photos
2. A funny Tag line to describe the Army Personnel
3. Their Catchphrase - Most commonly used slang
40 Caricatures for "The Indian Army"
It was an incredible opportunity, and we are grateful to have served - "The Indian Army", and we look forward to serving them again.

Picture from my Journal, where I was contemplating if I should QUIT my job to take the plunge of faith to rebuild Stoned Santa 🎅
The decision wasn't easy, but it was based on 3 main principles -
1. If I don't do it, I may regret it when I'm older
2. Its my Personal MBA - One year of time off to unlearn, and re-learn.
3. There are 2 brands I'm working on. One is Shashank aka Trippy Entrepreneur - An Educator / creator, and the other one is Stoned Santa 🎅
And the idea is these 2 brands will feed into each other.
To be very Honest with you, this journey is harder than I had imagined it to be.
And there are times when I question myself - Did I really have to Quit my job to do whatever I am doing today?
In moments of doubt, I revisit the pages of my journal, when I was contemplating the decision,
And that gives me strength, and courage.
No matter what happens, I've chosen this path, and dedicated one year of my time to this,
So might as well go all in, and persevere.

What's new in 2024?
For me, the only resolution I need to stick to is - "Posting 1 story of rebuilding my venture everyday"
Sometimes I wonder, if it will be interesting enough for people to watch, but then I go back to the reason(s) why I am doing this -
1. I love stories, they're powerful, and I am a storyteller at heart (I have finally understood this)
2. It's not about the 100 or the 1000 people who will watch it, rather just about that 1 person who finds value in it
3. I have one year, and limited cash to spend on paid marketing channels. Why experiment, when I can double / triple down on my strengths?
Yes, this will be tough - I will need to battle the Imposter Syndrome, learn to handle hate, and negativity,
But I will continue down this path - For there's no other option.
What about you? How are you planning to spend 2024 differently?

With my experiences in working with communities, I’ve had the privilege to look at the world, and businesses around us with different perspectives.
and while thinking about communities - I started thinking about the community of the delivery partners.
and then Zomato came to my mind - They've already launched some initiatives such as - The Shelter project, partner gratitude tips, insurance / medical benefits and more.
Zomato's efforts to foster a strong community among its delivery partners have not gone unnoticed. They recognize the significance of this community and are actively working to enhance their experience.
and while thinking about all of this, I too had some ideas, which I found interesting, and have spent the past few hours writing a blog about it.
Shall share it later tonight.
and while I continue fine tuning my thoughts, if you have ideas of your own, please put them down here, would love to read what you think.
ORRR
You could tell me, how you like the name - "Community Foreplay", a series dedicated to such suggestive ideas, or thoughts?
