Over the last number of years, we adopted six children who are blind, hence the name, SixBlindKids. Our "kids" are actually young adults now, and are learning about how to work and live as independently as possible.
Some have other disabilities as well but everyone is happy and we live quite a normal, yet crazy life. We have a lot of fun together so we hope you'll share some of our experiences with us.

Today, October 15, is National White Cane Cane Safety Day, and October is Blindness Awareness Month. We presented this video two years ago for White Cane Safety Day, and it demonstrates the inclusion of persons with all disabilities, including blindness and visual impairment, into our communities. I hope you will enjoy this video and PLEASE SHARE THIS VIDEO with your friends and family and on your social media platforms! Enjoy the video and HAPPY WHITE CANE SAFETY DAY!

We wanted to thank our 11 new Patreon members and 4 new YouTube channel members that signed up in September! The first part of the month is a great time to become one of our Patreon members, because you can become a patron early in October and your first pledge is not charged until November. If you'd like to support us on Patreon, you can do so for as little as $1 a month, link here: www.patreon.com/sixblindkids
If you'd like to become a YouTube channel member, you can do that for as little as $1.99 a month, link here: youtube.com/channel/UCl1LBUAs74vBjwEMv5uPdEg/join or press the "JOIN" button on our video watch page. You'll get a custom YouTube member icon showing up next to your name in the YouTube comments section on our channel!
With either a Patreon or a YouTube channel membership, you'll have access to our PRIVATE Facebook Group for Patrons and Channel Members and other perks.
The funds we receive from these memberships helps us provide CLOSED CAPTION subtitles on all of our videos and helps us with properly licensing the music we use as well as other features.

We're trying something new and uploaded our video at 11:15 EDT earlier today instead of our "regular" upload time of 6:15PM. New YouTube analytics charts are showing us that a vast number of our viewers are actually on YouTube from about 11:00AM EDT and all afternoon here in the US, so we decided to move our upload time for a test. This also helps our viewers in the UK and Europe because they can watch in the late afternoon and early evening, rather than having to wait until the next morning.

TODAY marks our TWO YEAR ANNIVERSARY of being on YouTube! We are VERY grateful that we have over 92,000 channel subscribers, a growing Patreon and membership base, and a lot more fun to tackle in the future. We wanted to thank Chris from @SpecialBooksbySpecialKids for featuring our family on his channel even before we had this channel.
And also a special thanks to @MrBeast (over 38M subscribers today), who shares in the video below, what it's like to accomplish 2 years on YouTube (he had ALMOST reached 1000 subscribers in his first two years). But his advice after his first two years is sage: 1) Get a good microphone, 2) upload in HD video, and 3) Be original! We have MUCH to be grateful for!

Happy Independence Day! This photo is from the ceremony (almost two years ago now) when Hannah and Jesse received their official US Citizenship along with about 80 other new immigrants to the USA. Hannah was honored to be able to sing the National anthem in the ceremony. The time stamp of Hannah singing is at 06:43 in the video. Here's the link to the video.

Hope you all have a safe and wonderful Independence Day!

20 months ago, we posted this video about disruption and dissolution as part of Adoption Awareness Month. We were brand new on YouTube, and Mom just wanted to share a story.

People Magazine (People.Com) has corrected the three inaccuracies in the title, subtitle and text of the article, and the editor has apologized regarding the difference between disrupting and dissolving an adoption.
The corrected article is here: people.com/parents/myka-stauffer-adoption-dissolut…
