Lubhoo Mahalaxmi Mandir, located in Lubhoo, Mahalaxmi Municipality, Lalitpur, is a deeply respected religious and cultural landmark with a history rooted in the Malla period (around the 14th–15th century). According to local traditions and historical inscriptions, the temple was established by Malla-era rulers with the collective effort of Newar artisans and the Lubhoo community, reflecting the communal spirit of that time. Rather than being the work of a single individual, the temple grew through generations of devotion, care, and reconstruction by local residents. Dedicated to Goddess Mahalaxmi, the goddess of prosperity and protection, along with Lord Mahabhairav, the temple has long been a spiritual guardian of the settlement. Built in classic Newar architectural style, with detailed wood carvings and sacred spaces shaped by faith, the temple continues to be the heart of Lubhoo’s religious life. Even today, locals gather here not only to worship, but to connect—with their ancestors, their culture, and each other—making the temple a living story of belief, continuity, and community.
Under the Langtang Himal, village life stays pure and true. Nepal connects you to nature in a way no other place can. If you haven’t traveled Nepal, a part of life is still waiting. The warmth of the people and the beauty of this land will stay with you forever. Travel Nepal.
