New video drops TOMORROW at 3pm PT / 6pm ET.
Live Story Clinic + Q&A is happening SUNDAY at 12pm PT / 3pm ET.
We are officially kicking off the next chapter on Plot Luck!
🎥 Tomorrow’s video is all about one of the hardest things to define, recognize, and write:
CHARACTER CHEMISTRY
What is it?
Why do some dynamics instantly crackle?
Why do others feel flat?
And how do you actually build chemistry on purpose instead of just hoping the banter saves you?
🚨 Then on Sunday, we’ll have our FIRST Plot Luck live event! We will hang out, walk through the free Character Chain worksheet, and I’ll answer your questions about character, plot, story, writing, the channel, myself, whatever you want to know.
If you haven’t grabbed the worksheet yet, it’s free here:

🔥 Plot Heads!!! New video drops TOMORROW at 3pm PT / 6pm ET. 🚨
Okay so... I’m really excited for this one.
Tomorrow’s video is the finale of Character Comes Alive, and it is basically the question this whole chapter has been building toward:
👉 Who is this story actually about?
Because once you understand the Character Chain, arcs, behavior, boundaries, pressure, and all the things that make a character feel alive, there is still one huge question sitting underneath all of it.
How do you actually find the right character in the first place?
🚨 Also, to celebrate hitting 10K, I’m going to be sharing a FREE downloadable Character Chain worksheet along with the video tomorrow. ✍️
It walks you through the links of the chain so you can start building your own characters with more clarity and intention.
🙏 As always, thank you so much for building this channel and community with me! I'm so excited for what's ahead.
Don't forget to stir the plot (and vote in the last poll 📊)!

🔥 Plot Heads!!! Antihero Poll + Next Video Update! 🚨
First off, thank you again for all the love lately! Hitting 10K has been absolutely wild, and the response to the last few videos has honestly meant a lot.
I will say there are a couple fun announcements coming soon so stay tuned. 👀
Now for what’s next!
🎬 This next video is going to be the Character Comes Alive finale, and we’re closing it out by going all the way back to the question before everything else:
👉How do you find the right character for your story?
Because sometimes you don’t start with a character. Sometimes you start with a world, premise, conflict, or just that one idea that keeps following you around.
And I think it’s a really fun way to wrap this chapter before we move into When Characters Collide!
📊 And now, the Antihero Poll is officially here.
You all voted for antiheroes as the next character breakdown category, and this final four is based on the top-liked suggestions from the comments. Although they don't all cleanly fit the "antihero" title, the people have spoken. 😂
So now it’s time to vote!
The winning character will be our next character breakdown.
And if your pick didn’t make it this round, don’t worry. We’ll definitely keep doing more character polls as Plot Luck grows. There are way too many great characters to only do this once.
🙏 As always, thank you for helping build this channel and community with me.
Don’t forget to stir the plot!

🔥 Plot Heads!!! We officially hit 10K. 🤯
Honestly, that is kind of wild to say.
✍️ 8 months ago, Plot Luck was just an idea I was excited about building. A place where we could talk about stories with real curiosity, have fun with the craft, and dig into why certain characters, worlds, and moments stay with us.
But it was also always about something bigger than analysis. I really do think people need stories. Maybe now more than ever.
The world can feel fractured, rushed, and weirdly disconnected from human creativity sometimes. And I know a lot of you have ideas, characters, worlds, scenes, and strange little sparks sitting inside you, just waiting for a little guidance, a little encouragement, or someone to believe that what you have to say is worth bringing out.
That is what this channel has always been about, and what I hope it continues to be: a place that helps celebrate, sharpen, and lift up the stories you love and the stories you want to tell.
❤️ Now there are 10,000 of you here, and I really just want to say thank you.
Thank you for watching, commenting, sharing your examples, voting in the polls, and making this place feel alive. I couldn't do this without you.
🚀 And the really exciting thing is that we are still just getting started!
We’ll obviously keep digging into character and worldbuilding, but there is so much more ahead for Plot Luck too.
We’re going to get into plot structure, suspense, romance, genre-specific storytelling, story diagnostics, adaptations, anime, games, film, TV, novels, and all the weird ways different mediums solve story problems differently.
I also want to keep exploring new formats over time. Fixing up stories that missed their potential, gaming out where a story could go next, building characters, worlds, and plots from scratch, Q&As, live conversations, and maybe even some bigger community-driven story experiments.
👇 So as we hit 10K, I’d love to hear from you:
What topics, characters, stories, formats, or storytelling questions would you most want to see Plot Luck explore?
Once again, thank you for building this channel and community with me.
Let’s continue to stir the plot!

🚨 Plot Heads!!! New video drops TOMORROW at 3pm PT / 6pm ET.
Okay so... I’m really excited for this one.
When I started working on it, I thought it was going to be about character behavior. What a character does when the story pushes back. How they react. How they move. How pressure reveals them.
And it is about that.
But the more I worked on it, the more it started to feel like this is actually the video we’ve been building toward in the Character Comes Alive chapter.
Because at a certain point, all the backstory, all the motivation, all the wounds, all the arcs, all the internal character work has to face a real test. The story has to ask:
👉 Do you actually know this character?
That’s what tomorrow’s video is really about. The true test of your character.
📊 Also! Quick reminder:
👉 Go back to the last community post and like your favorite antihero suggestions.
The 4 antihero comments with the most likes will become the final options for the next character breakdown poll. So if there’s someone you want to see make it in, now is the time to give them a boost.
As always, thank you for building this channel and community with me!
Don't forget to stir the plot,

🔥 Plot Heads!!! Next Video Update + I Need Your Help With The Character Poll! 🚨
First off, thank you so much for all the support on the last video. The conversations in the comments have been genuinely great, and I really appreciate everyone jumping in.
This Saturday, we’re continuing the Character Comes Alive chapter with one of my favorite parts of character writing:
👉 What does your character actually do when the story gets in their way?
Because you can know their backstory, wound, motivation, all of it. But character really starts to reveal itself when the easy path disappears and the thing they normally do stops working.
So this one is about obstacles, behavior, and something I call the Character Tactic Ladder.
🥁 And now for the poll winner… drum roll please…
As voted on by you, ANTIHEROES will be the focus of our next character breakdown!
But this time, I want your help building the poll. So...
👇 Drop an antihero character in the comments and make your case for them.
And if you see a suggestion you love, make sure to give it a like to boost its chances.
The 4 suggestions with the most likes will become the final options for the next vote!
As always, don’t forget to stir the plot!

🚨Plot Heads, I unfortunately need to push the new video back a little longer. The heroes and villains video is coming tomorrow, Monday, at 8am PT / 11am ET. 👈
🙏This is the second delay and I genuinely appreciate how patient and understanding you have all been. Some things came up that pushed this back and I also just wanted this one to truly be great for you. And honestly, I think we got there!
🦹🦸This one covers a conversation I have wanted to have for a long time and I am really excited for you to experience it. The characters, the argument, the forks in the road where heroes and villains went completely different directions. It is going to be worth the wait.
❤️ ALSO, a Happy Mother's Day to all the incredible moms out there. Including the dog moms, cat moms, pet moms, all of you. You are seen and truly appreciated today!
See you all tomorrow in the comments.
Don't forget to stir the plot!

🚨 Plot Heads!!! Small video update.
Had some health stuff pop up, so the new video is moving to TOMORROW at 4pm PT / 7pm ET. (UPDATED TO 4PM)
I really wanted to have it ready for today, especially because it’s the follow-up to the last one, but giving it one more day feels like the right call.
And honestly... I’m really excited for this one!
🦹 When did villains become more interesting than heroes?
Because I don’t think the answer is just “evil is more compelling than good.”
I think somewhere along the way, we started putting a lot of the most interesting character traits on the villain side of the line: the hunger, the wounds, the uncomfortable truths, the consequences, the ability to disrupt the story instead of just restore it.
🦸And somewhere in the middle of all that, a lot of heroes got cleaned up, protected, and turned into symbols before they were allowed to stay fully human.
So tomorrow, we’re digging into what got taken from heroes, why villains kept stealing the room, and how we get our heroes back.
🙏Thank you for being patient with me. Genuinely!
Don’t forget to stir the plot!
