Im going for an interview tomorrow at DHL driving a pacer (stand up forklift) . Aboit 20 miles away working night shift. Full time. I heard $22 hour
But The casino Yamava could consider me as well. Work as a food/ beverage attendant working 24-32 hours week. $18 hour. Very good benefits I heard about even with part time. Possibly with tips! Plus it's only 10 miles away. Plus more family time. Since it's PART TIME.
For the DHL warehouse. Its a continuation of driving forklifts and warehouse work, which i tend to get bored at. But my understanding I heard $22 an hour! . And they have benefits. Plus from i see, it's full time with some overtime at times. And weekly pay. So the pay would be good.
Yamava: I feel like the casino job can be a whole new experience. Can any of you shine in here? I feel like an opportunity to get exposure to and interact with people, which is feel i can be fun. This feels like a lot less boring than repetitive work in the warehouse. And I think it maybe a job where I need to come in dressed up. I HAD ALWAYS wanted a job like this! Dress up. Its like it makes me feel special. I dont know why.. I feel like in this job, I would feel happy coming in everyday. It does not matter what shift.
If you had to chose one. What do you think?
A job you really really like with little less pay. Or a good paying and probably easy work (if on forklift all day).
Can any of you shine in. What a job in Yamava is like???
DISCLAIMER: I DONT EVEN KNOW IF ILL EVEN GET ANY OF THESE. BUT I LIKE TO IMAGINE IF I HAD A CHOICE

Hi all of ya! My job died off! The one I had for 3 1/2 months! It's because it's too slow. I called in available at the agency. They sent me out for general labor at some place for 3rd shift. With absolutely no information and no communication about my schedule. Now suddenly I'm not working there after 2 nights. So it looks like my job and income is facing interruption. Because of this, I have to let go of my health insurance. Can't pay it. And will need to cut bills. And have to use our savings to cover expenses. 😞😓
I am frantically now looking for another job. Agency dont seem to have anything available. I wonder if all these ads for job openings. ARE THEY EVEN LEGIT??? Because all it leads me to is some stupid ads and spam. ITS ALL I GET.
Check out the latest video on this in my Lay off stories Playlist as this video is not public for now

2013 Kia Rio. 165k miles. New tires and battery. Runs good. Cracked windshield, ac not working.
Or
2011 Ford Edge. 177k miles. New radiator, alternator and battery. Very smooth running. One of the radiator fans not working (watch coolant temperature on hot days) and need 1 or 2 tires.

What's better?
To make money or to make memories?
This post is meant for the AVERAGE PERSON! With an AVERAGE 9-5 job
1) You work a ton of hours. 6 day 10 or 12 hours. Rarely get a day off. Work through holidays. And sacrifice weekends. And too tired and hardly any time for family or friends..
BUT GET BIG FAT PAYCHECKS ALL THE TIME. And buy some cool stuff or make that savings GROW
2) OR, HAVE THE RIGHT BALANCE OF WORK AND PLAY! Make enough money for your food and rent, and still have some money left for some leisure.
Work the normal 30-40 hours. Always home for weekends. Have plenty of time at home doing hobbies and friends or family time making a memory of it. In the sense that you have memories of those weekend holiday gatherings and so forth

Hi all of ya! Some of ya was questioning about the well-being of my job.
Well, here's the story (and situation).
Back in October last year, 2023. The company announced they are moving to Georgia. I'm not fully sure why they want to do that. But what I think could be because it's cheaper to operate there compared to California. But, I feel it could be because they need a bigger warehouse. The new location I heard has 1 million Sq ft. WHAT WOULD YOU GUYS THINK? also heard they say, 90% of their business will be in the new location.!
Over here in their current California location. The company has 3 buildings (warehouses). 2 buildings on one location in Ontario (this is where i work) and the 3rd in Fontana.
So, we got the announcement in October about their decision to move. Along the way, they also announced they will keep the Fontana location, (which will the other 10% of their business), but let go of the 2 buildings in Ontario. With that said, half of us is going with it (layoff). On the day of the announcement, half of us went to one room, and the other half of us went to another room for this announcement meeting. In one room, the employees were announced, they will move to the Fontana location and work there for now on.
And the other half of us in the other room. This is where we were basically told we are getting laid off. We all got "pink slips." A letter. A severance package. I WAS ONE OF THEM. I'm not sure what they based who they lay off upon. WHAT WOULD YOU GUYS THINK?. I do know, some of them (who are getting laid off) had been there for like 20 years! Each employee who got this letter has a specific day, which would be their last day.
BUT, we were also told, despite of getting the layoff notice, it's SUBJECT TO CHANGE. in other words, they can decide to keep one or some of us for example.
So, in this case. The company will go through phases of its closure. Little by little, starting on December and close off by around March!
So you can see! It's just like saying WE ARE ON A SINKING SHIP!"" (job is closing down little by little). Layoff is pending.
Layoffs would start somewhere in December 2023. For which I believe the first to go was the receiving department, and Temps. (They're already gone as of today)
Next would be the DSDC department (where I work), which have already reached its demise. Most of the employees in that department is already "drowned in the water" as of today.
Some employees in this department, however, are spared and are already moved to Fontana.
It's like saying. They are safe from this sinking ship! I'm still on this sinking ship though!
Since I was one of several who received the pink slip. My original last day here was supposed to be when DSDC closed, February 26, 2024, which it already is now.
I had been asked, however, if I'm able to stay until May. (like in subject to change), Since I'm a driver, they will need me a little longer.
That's good for me! Gives me extra time to brace myself for when my day comes!
At this moment. The 2 buildings I work at is becoming more and more empty. (The ship is filling more and more with water!) It's like the company wants to try to sell off all the pallets they can rather than moving all those to the new location. Easier that way, if you ask me. 😆
They already took apart some of the racking. And packing all office and other items and equipment. In the next 2 weeks, we will be emptying all the racking of all remaining pallets. (I'm one of them who's going to do this). So the crew can start to take apart all the racking or something. Supposed to be, my last is May sometime! So, in that case, I will be working for around 2 more months! Which I'm glad gives enough time to brace myself (save money) completely by then. IM JUST GLAD that I get a chance to prepare. Not like some unfortunate people, who lose their jobs abruptly without warning! I seen that so many time! I tell ya!
In the meantime, while I still have my health insurance, it's my chance to completely check myself out for this year at the doctors. I feel fine, and I am fine for the most part
So, how do I feel about all this?
I'm not worried about it, really.
Because I have God on my side! I already passed my cares upon the lord God. He says NOT TO WORRY! Amen!
Jenny, my wife, told me about an announcement in her job. They will make major adjustments to everybody's pay for the case of inflation. She might get $42 an hour (current is $32). If she is able to get $42. I don't have to work if I don't want to! Because $42 is enough to cover all bills and rent we have. Since we have NO car or credit card payments. Besides all this, I have plenty of emergency cash . (That's why you should save for the rainy day!)
PLUS, I GET SOME $ FROM MY YOUTUBE! Jenny even tells me, if it gets bad she can get me in her job. Or even my daughter!
Speaking of my YouTube, I will then have all the time in the world for improving my channel. Perhaps I will work full time on youtube. Then I won't need a job. Lol 😆

Hi all of ya! Gil here. I'm old enough here.
Ok, so, I want to start posting some videos that I would call "pop ups", titled "Dad advice! I want to post short "advice" videos. Like say, 3 minutes eac per point of advice I can give. Advice I would give about life and other useful "tips" based on my 53 year old self experience.
Which of these ways for me post "Dad advice"
Do ya like better?
Option #1 Post "pop up" type short video. One video per piece of advice I want to share. Once a week or something.
Option #2: Put ONE video posting several of my advice points , like say 5 or 10 points in one longer video.

PRETEND!
Your income suddenly cuts. Job slows down.
What's the first thing you would cut your spending on. .
For me, eating out! Also would skip or cut back little $10-$15 random items like to buy on eBay, TJ Maxx etc

Hi all of ya. Im making a study of my own.
Let's say you work in an average place. Say warehouse work (your first job). Your job is pretty physical, and you go through significant amount stress there. Let's pretend you make $400 a week working 40 hours.
NICE, You had just got a 25% raise.
But you can only pick one of these options to go about it.
The 3 options: Which would you pick as a "raise". Let's PRETEND...
Option #1 : A very easy LOW stress and more fun position. Same $400 same 40 hours.
Option #2 : 25% less hours (30 hours). More time at home and hobbies! Same $400, same stress level.
Option #3 : Or work the same stress level, same 40 hours, but making 25% more. $500
If it was me. I would choose option 2!
