Just found the best RC hobby store on this side of the Mississippi!!! The Hobby Connection located in Easley South Carolina has EVERYTHING for RC flying! They’ve got a huge selection of RC planes, batteries, transmitters, etc… My Dad and I left the store with his new Carbon Cub S 2 1.3M, and my new UltraStick 1.1M. Charlie’s Airventures
Faith in Flight – Sunday Devotional by Charlie’s Airventures
Joshua 1:9 (NIV)
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous.
Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged,
for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
To give just a bit of context to this verse. Joshua is the assistant of the great Moses. If you’re unfamiliar with Moses, he brought the Israelites out of Egypt, parted the Red Sea, received the ten commandments from God, and wrote the first 5 books of the Bible. Moses was a great leader of his people for over 40 years… But when Moses died, Joshua had to take his place.
Now, this is a HUGE deal. Because Joshua has to finish the work Moses. He has to get the Israelites to the promised land. At this point in time of the story, they had been waiting centuries to reach the Promised land, and were standing at the edge of the Jordan River ( about to enter Canaan ). Canaan is filled with strong Armies, fortified cities, and lots of danger for them. So Joshua knows that a battle is imminent. So naturally, he is afraid.
But in this verse, God speaks directly to Joshua! He says “Have I not commanded you? Be brave and courageous.” God is telling Joshua that he wouldn’t have put him in this leadership role if he knew he couldn’t do it. God goes on to tell Joshua “Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged,
for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” He’s saying that there is no need to be afraid because he has the power of God watching over him wherever he goes.
And that last part REALLY sticks out to me. Sometimes we as pilots ( whether student pilots or Airline Captains ) know that we have a struggle or “battle” ahead of us. Maybe a student pilot is seeing all of the things they have to do in order to be a pilot ( like a checkride ). Or a Commercial Pilot is seeing a LONGGGG schedule of flights ahead with little sleep in between. Either way, why should we be stressed, or anxious, or scared? God isn’t just speaking to Joshua here, he’s speaking to everyone.
God won’t put you in a situation that he knows you can’t defeat. So why fear when we have the power of God watching carefully over us? We shouldn’t🙂
Throughout this week, if you have to face a big challenge or a big problem, remember that God is watching over you. He gives you challenges KNOWING that you can overcome them! So why fear when the power of the Lord is on our side?😎
Make sure to share the word to someone who needs to hear the goodness of God this week!✝️😊

Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.”
In this verse, Isaiah shares a pretty powerful message that many people overlook. In the first sentence he states that those who hope in the lord renew their strength. This doesn’t mean just saying that you have hope in God. But rather really making conscious efforts to have faith during fear, to go to God when life feels shaky, and to believe that God knows what’s best for you. THAT is what hope in the Lord looks like! And those who hope in the Lord will have their strength restored, whether it be physical, mental, emotional, etc…
Isaiah goes on to talk about how we will soar on wings like eagles. This is a perfect simile of how God raised us up through life’s challenges. He will give us strength, confidence, and peace.
He ends this verse by saying “They will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. This just perfectly ties the verse together. Because while life may get busy and we may feel burned out, God will never burnout. And he will give you the courage and the strength to keep moving forward.
Here’s how I like to think of this verse. When we fly, we can’t actually see the lift that holds the airplane up, but we trust it completely! We trust the wings, the air, and the design of the plane, even though the force keeping us in the sky is invisible.
Hope in the Lord works the same way! We don’t always see what God is doing behind the scenes, but we trust that He’s holding us up. Just like lift keeps an airplane flying, God gives us the strength and support we can’t always see, but we can always rely on.🙂
Make sure to share the word to someone who needs to hear the goodness of God this week!✝️😊

Faith in Flight – Sunday Devotional by Charlie’s Airventures
Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord,“plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
In this verse God is speaking directly to the Israelites. At the time, they were in a tough spot. They were living in exile in the land of Babylon. They were away from their home, confused, and just hurting altogether. It was as if NOTHING had gone according to their plan. But in this verse, God is essentially telling them “Hey! Don’t worry! I know what I’m doing!” He says
“Know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not harm you.”
He’s telling them that even though it feels like life is going horribly, God is working for their good. God allows turbulence and detours and challenges in our lives. But they aren’t meant to harm us, but shape us. To help us grow and to fully prepare us for what great things he is going to do for us.
The end of this verse tells us “plans to give you a hope and a future.” This drives home the point that God is working in our lives for the better. Our plan isn’t always God’s plan.
But know that his plan is better.🙂
Sometimes we feel like we’ve been stuck in the same situation FOREVER, but that’s ok! Gods plan takes time. We have to trust his long term plans as well as his short term plans. God is constantly working in our lives, sometimes we just don’t see it until later on in life looking back. But in the end, we know it was good 😊.
So throughout this week, if we find ourselves in turbulence or on a different flight path than we’d hoped. Remember, God is our “pilot in command” and his plan ALWAYS has a purpose.
Make sure to share the word to someone who needs to hear the goodness of God this week!✝️😊

Faith in Flight – Sunday Devotional by Charlie’s Airventures
“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.”— Proverbs 16:9 (NIV)
When I read this verse, it reminded me of flight planning. As pilots, we spend time checking the weather, planning our flight route, and marking certain checkpoints along our journey. But even with the best preparation, things can change…winds shift, storms build, and sometimes we have to divert.
Our lives work kind of in the same way. We can plan our route and set checkpoints, but that doesn’t mean everything will go exactly as planned. God may have a different heading in mind. One that leads us somewhere even better!
When something unexpected happens, it’s not always a sign that we’re off course. Sometimes it’s God adjusting our path, guiding us safely to where He wants us to be. God doesn’t want us to control every detail of our lives. He wants us to trust His direction and to follow His lead.
So throughout this week, whether you’re flying or navigating everyday life, remember, your plans are the flight plan, but God is the ultimate Air Traffic Controller. Let Him establish your path, and trust that His route always leads to the best destination.
If this devotional encouraged you today, take a moment to share it with someone who might need a little reminder that God’s still in control of their flight plan. You never know how far a word of faith can travel.
Jesus loves you infinitely! Never forget that!✝️🤗

Charlie’s Airventures
Faith in Flight – Sunday Devotional by Charlie’s Airventures
This week’s verse comes from Psalm 139:9–10 (NIV): “If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.”
In this psalm, David is telling us that no matter where we go, God is with us. Whether we’re flying through the mountains, over the sandy shores, or way up high at cruising altitude, God is there with us.
We really see this in the first part of the verse: “If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea…” The wings of dawn symbolize the early morning sunrise as light spreads across the sky, and the far side of the sea represents the most distant places on Earth.
David is saying that even if we could travel as fast as the morning light, to the most distant places of the Earth, we are never outside of God’s presence or protection.
Then David says, “Even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.” This ties it all together, even when we feel far from God, facing hardships, or struggling in our faith, He’s still there. God isn’t just present, He’s active. His hands in this psalm represent both His guidance in our lives and the protection He provides.
So wherever life takes you this week, whether you’re climbing through smooth skies or flying through turbulence, remember that God is right there beside you, guiding every step and every flight. His presence brings peace no matter how far you go, and His love never loses track of you. And just like the light of dawn spreads across the sky, let’s spread the light of His Word wherever we go. Share that hope, that peace, and that truth with others, so they too can know that no matter how far they wander, God’s hand can guide them home.
Jesus loves you!✝️🤗🙏

It also fits this weeks “Faith in Flight” perfectly! Psalms 19:1: “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.”
The beauty of Gods work is all around us, and my friend here got an AMAZING picture for us!😎✈️🛩️⛰️🌎

Faith in Flight: Sunday Verse from Charlie’s Airventures
Psalm 19:1: “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.” ( NIV )
In this Psalm, David reminds us that God’s glory is all around us. We see it in the sky, the clouds, the sunrises and sunsets, the stars, and everything in our vast universe.
There are times that I’ve looked at the sky and thought, “This isn’t just a coincidence, there’s a maker behind everything.”
When I look to the sky, I’m reminded that God created every star, every planet, every galaxy — and yet, with all His power and majesty, He knows my name. He created me EXACTLY in His image. That thought alone fills me with strength, joy, peace, and comfort. The God of all creation knows me, and loves me infinitely. 🙂
This week, I encourage you to take a moment to step outside and look to the sky. Whether it’s an early sunrise, a glowing sunset, or a starry night. Look up and remember: the same God who created the universe, the heavens, and the earth, also created you. 🤗 You are made in His image, and His love for you has no limits. ✝️🙏🙌
