What do we have upcoming?

This week we have a busy day with training from top BE coach Tim Rogers - flatwork and jumping which we hope to film.

We will be heading off to Bicton with an incredibly busy day as both on the same day. Nova doing 100 regional final and Insey doing the Novice.

The week after we are heading off to Aachen for the eventing world champs where we are hoping to have a special guest to walk the course with us. We will vlog the whole week.

At the moment it looks like anyone who wants to watch the world champs will only be able to do it on Clip My Horse which has a yearly subscription.

Week after that Insey heads to Bicton to go showjumping before heading to Wellington the week after, hopefully to get further than the dressage.... hoping the tails might come out again 🤞.

Do people want course walks in vlogs still? Part of me thinks, can't be arsed as we discuss them in quite a lot of detail and mindful they are probably skipped a lot. Maybe we should get to 10/15 min vlogs...

Also is there anything people would like to see in eventing vlogs? Most other eventing vlogs I watch, I do tend to skip the dull waffle and just watch the competing so hence ours are short!

Eventing Journey

Thank you to everyone who has clicked the sub button over the years. Pretty cool to reach this milestone. We have no background in marketing or photography. Our filming isn't great, and we only tend to film stuff that interests us. We have the charisma of a brick, don't ride particularly well, are not young or attractive but hopefully we keep it real. We are very privileged to have some very nice horses and we really love horses so hopefully that does come across. We appreciate all who have pressed that like/sub button and taken the time to comment over the years especially if you have been watching from the start.

Eventing Journey

It's been a mental few weeks for both of us trying to get to Badminton Grassroots. It's the last time for me (Lucy) with Insey as we are now have novice points so ineligible but Jancis certainly has more chances, going forwards. I think I have been in a permanent state of anxiety for 2 weeks with the two mares being a nightmare. One fracturing her hock and the other being hormonal.

Slowly setting off is getting closer and we have both done everything we can to try and do as good a job as possible.

It is hard balancing a full time office job with horses and we have both been a little jealous of those who are self employed and able to be a little more flexible than we can be, though I appreciate we will now be paid for annual leave while those who are self employed, will not be. Kudos to those who work shifts as must be even trickier.

Whatever happens we will have a lovely time, appreciating what our lovely horses do for us and being with friends and family. Not many great friends get to experience something like this together. Also we have NEVER competed against each other in eventing 😳.

Thanks to everyone who watches our small channel. We appreciate all your comments. If you are at Badminton do come and say hello. We will be at The Retreat from 5pm on Wednesday hoping to have a drink or two!

It's been a typical horse week - you make a grand plan keep your fingers crossed and immediately a wheel falls off!

Poor Insey has given herself a horrible wound under her elbow on front leg and it's quite deep so not sure how long she will be off work as she is very sore. We are pretty sure the bursar hasn't been impacted so hoping she will heal without complications. It will put our plans back a bit as she has missed quite a lot of work lately with weather, injury and rider illness. It's just horses and this is why you make a lot of different plans.

We are in the process of putting a vlog together about the NQR horse. Which is our abbreviation for not quite right. We see a lot of horses on social media who are showing signs but there has only been a minor change in performance or they are doing a job they cope with well, so it's not picked up or it's certainly not discussed. As with everything horse related, experience is one of those things you gain after you needed it and we have a lot of videos of our own NQR horses over 20 years where thanks to the work of Sue Dyson and subsequent bigger problems that emerged, we now know better. We both try and pick things up from a whisper rather than having the horse shout.

It's never easy with a non verbal sentient being to try and work out if there is a problem so hoping you guys can learn from our many mistakes.

Happy New year - just want to thank those who watch, comment and subscribe to our niche little channel. 2026 is the year to chase some bucket list goals from doing a walk and trot test on our just turned 4yos, including the mule. Have both Insey and Nova happy and most importantly to have fun and enjoy it all. Whatever comes along, and there will always be highs and lows, try to do it with a sense humour. Hope you are happy and successful in your own lives and that the year of the horse is kind to you.

This is a bit of a weird post! Would you expect anything else?

We have a few horse legs in a freezer..... would you be interested in us showing a few things about them. One of the ones I thought might interest people is in leg cooling. You can see why some things work (ice) and others won't (clay, gels and evaporation).

The intention is to learn but for some people it could understandably be upsetting. Let us know your thoughts.

1 week today we head off to Pau 5* which we are very excited about. French food and eventing.... what's not to love? Plus catching up with some mates who live there.

With Pau being the last 5* of the year we will run a special eventing league comp and get some prizes which will hopefully be Pau merch.

If you are non-European based we will get you a voucher for an online tackshop so you are not excluded with postage and tariffs being a bit tricky at moment.

Prizes for top 3 in the league.

They won't be huge fancy prizes but a bit of a reward for fun.
