This is gamers world in Dublin, Ireland. This place had two large rooms and 50+ gamers spread out across tables. Mostly Magic, the Gathering or board games. Only a small RPG area on the shelves, sadly. They carried no Shadowdark, but had heard of it here in Dublin, and no books or products from Les Merry Mushmen in France.
Made me realize that retail game stores are filled with younger people playing card games, Warhammer, or Pokémon. Maybe even war games with miniatures, etc. but very few DND, Pathfinder, or similar RPG‘s. I think my whole niche within the hobby lives on YouTube, Roll20, or Cons with occasional stops at the kitchen table to play with friends in person. We’ve got work to do.

I looked out my hotel room in Dublin, Ireland this morning and saw Gamers World! It must’ve been a sign from the dice gods. Lol!

Solid analysis and discussion of seafaring in B/X vs Shadowdark from John over @LichHouse. While I am not a big fan of old TSR modules and adventures, I think it might be a good place to start before growing into a more advanced sea adventure settings with expanded options and better rules.
