🇲🇽 Espagueti Mexicano VS 🇵🇷 Espagueti Puertorriqueño 🍝

They may both be called spaghetti, but the flavors can be completely different!

🇲🇽 Mexican spaghetti is often creamy or tomato-based. Depending on the family, you might see espagueti rojo made with tomato, garlic, onion and seasonings, or espagueti verde made with roasted poblano peppers, crema and cheese. Some families also add ham, sausage or other meats.

🇵🇷 Puerto Rican spaghetti usually has that delicious sazón criollo flavor! 🇵🇷 It’s commonly made with tomato sauce, sofrito, sazón, adobo, garlic, onions and peppers, and it may include ground beef, chicken, ham or sausage. Some people even add olives for extra Puerto Rican flavor.

🍝 The biggest difference?
Mexican spaghetti has many different versions, including creamy and chile-based sauces, while Puerto Rican spaghetti usually leans toward a seasoned tomato sauce with plenty of sofrito and sazón.

Of course, every family makes theirs differently! ❤️

👇 Which one did you grow up eating — Mexican spaghetti 🇲🇽 or Puerto Rican spaghetti 🇵🇷? And what do YOU put in yours?

🇺🇸 Happy Labor Day everyone! ❤️🤍💙

Labor Day is a day to recognize and appreciate the hard work and contributions of workers across our country. It’s celebrated on the first Monday of September and, for many families, it also feels like the unofficial goodbye to summer. ☀️

People celebrate in different ways—having cookouts and BBQs 🌭🍔, spending time with family and friends, going to parades or festivals, enjoying a day at the park or beach, shopping Labor Day sales, or simply staying home and getting some much-needed rest.

Whether you’re working today or enjoying the day off, I hope you have a safe, peaceful, and blessed Labor Day. 🙏🏼💙 Take some time to enjoy your family, your friends, and the little things in life.

Happy Labor Day! 🇺🇸❤️

🇲🇽 CARNE GUISADA VS 🇵🇷 CARNE GUISADA

Same name… but NOT necessarily the same guisado! 👀🍲

Both Mexican and Puerto Rican carne guisada are comforting dishes made by slowly cooking beef until it’s tender, but the flavors and preparation can be very different depending on the country, region and family.

🇲🇽 CARNE GUISADA MEXICANA

Mexican carne guisada is typically made with pieces of beef slowly simmered until tender in a flavorful sauce.

Depending on the region and family, it may include:

🥩 Beef
🍅 Tomatoes or tomato sauce
🧅 Onion
🧄 Garlic
🌶️ Fresh or dried chiles
🥔 Potatoes
🌿 Cumin, oregano and other seasonings

Some versions are more tomato-based, while others use different chiles to create a red or green sauce. It can be served with Mexican rice, beans and warm tortillas. 🇲🇽

🇵🇷 CARNE GUISADA PUERTORRIQUEÑA

Puerto Rican carne guisada is also made with chunks of beef simmered until nice and tender, but the flavor usually starts with that Boricua seasoning base. 🇵🇷

Common ingredients can include:

🥩 Beef
🌿 Sofrito
🧂 Adobo & sazón
🍅 Tomato sauce
🫒 Olives
🥔 Potatoes
🥕 Carrots
🫑 Peppers

Everything cooks together until the beef is tender and you have a rich, flavorful gravy or sauce.

It’s commonly served with arroz blanco, arroz con gandules, habichuelas, tostones or maduros. 😋

🔥 THE DIFFERENCE?

🇲🇽 Mexican carne guisada can get much of its flavor from tomatoes, chiles, garlic, onion and spices, with recipes varying greatly by region.

🇵🇷 Puerto Rican carne guisada commonly gets its signature flavor from sofrito, sazón, adobo, tomato sauce and olives.

Same name. ❤️
Two different cooking traditions. 🇲🇽🇵🇷

And of course, there’s NO single way to make either one. Every family has their own recipe!

👇🏼 How does YOUR family make carne guisada? And which plate are you trying first?

🇲🇽 CALDO DE POLLO VS 🇵🇷 ASOPAO DE POLLO

Both are warm, comforting chicken dishes perfect for those cold or rainy days ❤️🍲 — but they are definitely NOT the same!

🇲🇽 CALDO DE POLLO

Caldo de pollo is a traditional Mexican chicken soup made by simmering chicken in a flavorful broth with vegetables.

Common ingredients include:
🍗 Chicken
🥔 Potatoes
🥕 Carrots
🌽 Corn on the cob
🥒 Zucchini or chayote
🧅 Onion
🧄 Garlic
🌿 Cilantro

Depending on the family, you might find cabbage, green beans, rice or other vegetables in it too.

It’s usually served nice and hot with lime, cilantro, onion, chile and warm tortillas on the side. 🇲🇽

🇵🇷 ASOPAO DE POLLO

Asopao de pollo is a Puerto Rican chicken and rice dish that’s somewhere between a soup and a stew. 🇵🇷🍚🍗

The chicken is cooked with ingredients such as sofrito, sazón, adobo, tomato sauce, peppers, garlic and seasonings. Rice is cooked directly in the flavorful broth, giving asopao its signature thicker consistency.

Some families also add olives, peas, cilantro or other ingredients.

🔥 THE BIG DIFFERENCE?

🇲🇽 Caldo de pollo = a lighter chicken broth filled with chicken and chunky vegetables. 🥕🌽🥔

🇵🇷 Asopao de pollo = a thicker, seasoned chicken-and-rice soup/stew with that classic sofrito flavor. 🍚🍗

Both are comfort food, just in two completely different ways. ❤️

🇲🇽 VS 🇵🇷 Which bowl are you choosing?

And remember—every family makes theirs differently! Tell me how YOUR family prepares it. 👇🏼

🇲🇽 PICADILLO MEXICANO VS 🇵🇷 PICADILLO PUERTORRIQUEÑO

They’re both called picadillo and both are usually made with seasoned ground beef, but the flavors and ingredients can be very different! 👀

🇲🇽 PICADILLO MEXICANO

Mexican picadillo is usually made by browning ground beef with onion and garlic, then adding vegetables such as diced potatoes, carrots and sometimes peas. 🍅🥔🥕🫛

A tomato-based sauce is commonly added using fresh tomatoes or tomato sauce, along with seasonings. Depending on the family or region, you might also find jalapeño, serrano, raisins or other ingredients.

It’s cooked together until the potatoes and vegetables are tender and the meat has absorbed all that tomato flavor.

It can be eaten with rice, beans and tortillas or used as a filling for tacos, tostadas, empanadas and other dishes. 🇲🇽

🇵🇷 PICADILLO PUERTORRIQUEÑO

Puerto Rican picadillo also starts with ground beef, but that classic Boricua flavor usually comes from ingredients such as sofrito, sazón and adobo. 🧄🫑🌿

It is commonly cooked with tomato sauce, onions, peppers, garlic and olives, and some families add capers, potatoes or raisins.

Puerto Rican picadillo tends to have that savory, seasoned sofrito flavor with a little salty/briny kick from the olives.

It can be served with arroz blanco, habichuelas or tostones, and it’s also used as a filling for empanadillas, pastelillos, rellenos de papa, alcapurrias, pastelón and more. 🇵🇷

🔥 THE BIG DIFFERENCE?

🇲🇽 Mexican picadillo often focuses more on tomato, potatoes and mixed vegetables.

🇵🇷 Puerto Rican picadillo often gets its signature flavor from sofrito, sazón, adobo and olives.

But there is NO single correct recipe! Every region, family and abuelita has their own way. ❤️

🇲🇽🇵🇷 How does YOUR family make picadillo? And which version are you choosing? 👇🏼

🛒🌎 LET’S START A GROCERY PRICE TREND! 🌎🛒

Okay, mi gente! I want to try something FUN with all of you — and I need people from different states AND different countries to join us! 👀🔥

My fellow supporter Saint gave me this idea after posting a video showing the food prices at his local grocery store. I thought… WAIT A MINUTE! 🤔 What if ALL of us did this?!

So Saint and I are starting the:

🔥🛒 #GroceryPriceShowdown 🛒🔥

🎥 HERE’S THE CHALLENGE:

Go to your local grocery store, Walmart, supermarket, etc. and record the prices of some basic everyday foods that most families buy.

For example:

🥚 Eggs
🍞 Bread
🥓 Bacon
🌭 Hot dogs
☕ Coffee
🥛 Milk
🧀 Cheese
🍗 Chicken
🥩 Ground beef
🍚 Rice
🥔 Potatoes
🍌 Fruit
🥫 Basic pantry items

You DON’T have to buy anything! 😂 Just show us the prices!

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Please try to show or mention the SIZE/QUANTITY of each item too!

For example:

🥚 12-count large eggs
🥛 1 gallon of milk
🥩 1 lb. ground beef
🍞 20 oz. loaf of bread
☕ 12 oz. coffee
🥓 16 oz. bacon

This is SUPER important because when I calculate everything at the end, I want our comparison to be as fair as possible. A smaller package might look cheaper when we’re actually getting less food!

📍 Also tell us your STATE or COUNTRY!

Then post your video using our official hashtag:

🔥 #GroceryPriceShowdown 🔥

That way I can find everyone’s videos!

⏰ We’re giving this challenge about TWO WEEKS!

After that, I’m coming back to collect the results and compare everyone’s prices. 👀📊

🏆 Which state will have the CHEAPEST groceries?

💸 Which state will be the MOST EXPENSIVE?

🌎 And if you’re outside the United States, we want YOU involved too! Let’s see how grocery prices compare around the WORLD!

I’ll be doing my own grocery-price video here in Wisconsin too, so y’all can see what we’re paying over here! 🛒👀

❤️ And PLEASE go show some love to Saint, because his grocery-price video is what inspired this whole challenge!

👇 I’ll be linking Saint’s channel below, so go check him out, show him some support, and let him know you came from the ‪@1saintstrugglin‬ Check out his short on the prices at his local grocery store. #GroceryPriceShowdown!

Saint… look what you started! 😂😂🛒🔥

Now I want to see YOUR grocery store!

WHO’S JOINING US?! 🙋🏽‍♀️🙋🏽‍♂️

🎯 Tag somebody from another state or country and challenge them to show us THEIR grocery prices!

Let’s see how far we can take this! 🌎🛒🔥
