Among the victims were 25 Indian nationals and one Nepalese citizen, many of whom were Hindu pilgrims visiting the region.
Eyewitness accounts reveal the horrifying nature of the assault. The attackers, armed with automatic weapons, targeted non-Muslim tourists, reportedly asking them to recite Islamic verses and checking for circumcision to identify their religion. Those who couldn’t comply were mercilessly executed. Survivors recall being told by the assailants to “go tell this to Modi,” a chilling message intended to spread fear and chaos.
