New video is up! Finally got to do a proper project breakdown + an update on what I’ve been working on this year. In an earlier video I mentioned how things felt a bit slow creatively, so it was really nice getting back to a format that was familiar and fun.

In the video, I walk through how I made this stylized 2D/3D scene. It had been a while since I really dug into Blender, so I tried out some new techniques with Grease Pencil, Geometry Nodes, particles, and shaders. At the end, I also talk a bit about where I've been and how I'm getting back into a better creative rhythm.

With lots of creatives and artists leaving for Cara, I wanted to make a video highlighting a problem relevant to every social app. Although we like to think some apps are great for sharing our art, our best interests aren't really their focus. If a company wants to stay competitive, they’re going to adapt somehow, whether that’s now or further down the line as they grow. So, wherever you decide to share your work, make sure you keep this in mind.

I've renamed it to Magic Storybook to reflect the course in its entirety. This new update focuses on using grease pencil in a workflow that combines 3D elements. Hey everyone! Hope you're all staying safe during this holiday season. Wanted to share a new tutorial I created on the ‪@cgboost‬ channel! It's been a while since I've done a detailed video and in this one, we'll create this stylized microscope with grease pencil. We'll go over modeling, how to create a textured toon shader, animate some parts of it, and lastly, add details to it with grease pencil. Hope you guys enjoy it!
