Getting a YEIDA plot might actually be tougher than cracking IIT-JEE.

Sounds surprising — but the numbers tell an interesting story.

In the last YEIDA residential plot scheme (RPS-09):
• 54,000+ applicants competed
• Only 276 plots were allotted
• Overall success probability: ~0.51%

For context, acceptance rates in IIT-JEE admissions are often estimated around ~1% (varying by year and institute).

Which means statistically, securing a YEIDA residential plot was even more competitive.

But this isn’t really about exam comparisons.

It reflects something deeper about the NCR real estate cycle — the return of demand for early-stage land near infrastructure growth corridors like Jewar Airport.

When tens of thousands compete for a few hundred authority plots, it signals rising conviction about where future urban expansion may happen.
The real question isn’t “Will I win the draw?”

It’s:

Nearly 8 years later, RERA is still misunderstood — especially by buyers who assume it guarantees safety.

On ground, its impact has been deeper and more structural than most discussions acknowledge.

What RERA actually changed
RERA didn’t just introduce compliance. It changed how projects enter the market.

Today, launching a project typically requires:
• legally secured land arrangements
• sanctioned plans and statutory approvals
• financial disclosures
• higher upfront capital commitment
• regulatory registration before large-scale sales

Result:
➡ Real estate moved from an idea-driven business to a capital-intensive, compliance-driven industry.

This is one reason newer launches are increasingly dominated by national developers and financially stronger regional players.

Entry became harder — and that quietly filtered risk.

As per the Economic Survey 2024–25:
• ~1.38 lakh projects registered under RERA
• ~95,000+ agents registered
• ~1.38 lakh complaints disposed nationwide

These numbers matter because activity that once operated informally is now publicly recorded and auditable.

Buyers shifted from trusting brochures to checking databases.
