The creative artists network phase7 performing.arts was founded in 1999 by director and media artist Sven Sören Beyer. Beyer's cross-media aesthetic, his fascination with technical innovation and his interdisciplinary approach have always been evident in phase7's work and they were soon established internationally as sought-after German media artists.
The work of the Berlin artists' network revolves around the intersection between man and technology and the interaction between the real and the virtual. Computer and software specialists working with performing and visual artists create a distinctive artistic language. The targeted use of high-tech such as motion sensing, robotics and wave field synthesis brings the idea of theatre into the new century.
