Anthology

Originally self-released in 1976, Robert Lester Folsom’s Music and Dreams has traveled from hand-to-hand obscurity to cult classic status, finding new generations of listeners and renewed acclaim. For its golden jubilee, Anthology Recordings now presents Music and Dreams: 50th Anniversary Edition, a double LP that pairs a remastered treatment of the album alongside the original reel-to-reel demos, adding new contour and color to music that continues to find an audience in its own time.

To celebrate the anniversary, Beach House recast “April Suzanne,” one of the album’s most iconic downer anthems, in a lush, dream pop mold.

Music and Dreams: 50th Anniversary Edition is out October 16th on 2xLP and CD formats. Note: Vinyl and CD editions do not include the cover tracks. Limited edition 7" vinyl with Beach House's "April Suzanne" between the remastered original is also out October 16th. Both releases are available for pre-order now at the link in bio.

OUT NOW: Hoover - The Lost Outlaw Album

Before kissing country music and Nashville goodbye and riding off into the sunset in the early 1970s, ASCAP Award winning, single-name songwriter and former Monument and Epic recording artist, Hoover, cut one last album at what was know as "Outlaw Headquarters" at 916 19th Ave. South.

Hoover, part of the original country music outlaw movement and a late-night-neon-campfire associate of Kinky Friedman, Waylon Jennngs, Billy Joe Saver and Tompall Glaser, considered this album his best. It was never released, and the master recording was lost after "Outlaw Headquarters" studio ceased to exist.

Decades passed and Hoover and the lost outlaw album were forgotten. One fan who didn't forget was Cathy Flanagan, who, acting swiftly on a telephone tip in the spring of 1977, literally retrieved Hoover's master tapes from a Nashville Dumpster moments before they would have been hauled away for good.
