Sailing Florence

We are a British couple who have spent 9 years sailing our 37ft mono-hull around the world. Over 70,000 miles and multiple oceans later, the adventure is still ongoing. Our videos document our adventures and life aboard as we travel the world full time on our sail boat Florence. Join us as we cross oceans, meet new cultures, find beautiful places and experience the highs and lows of the liveaboard lifestyle.

Florence is an Oyster Heritage 37, full boat tour here: youtu.be/OGuiKC53fds

150,000 subscribers on YouTube! THANK YOU!

Thank you for sticking with us though the rough and the smooth. What a lot of miles we've sailed together. It's been a journey in more ways than one, from crossing oceans and fixing boats in remote locations to learning how to use a camera and edit video. 10 years on we are still learning (and cringing when we look back at our early video edits, huge thanks for your perseverance if you've been with us since 2016). Where did you join the Sailing Florence journey?

A huge thank you to those of you who have joined the crew on Patreon and also to our sailing partners @gillmarine and @bandgsailing

Sailing Florence

A few photos of what's to come in the next videos of our journey around the British Isles.
We have a long way to go and a lot more to see but the highlights of our 'home lap' are stacking up faster than we can edit them.
We look forward to sharing some of the more remote, and less visited places, in the British Isles in our coming videos.

Sailing Florence

NEW video out this Friday.
Unfortunately editing has had to take a back seat in recent weeks as we focus on the boat work, but that means there is a LOT of progress to share. Our regular schedule will now resume and we will be back with the fortnightly videos. We look forward to sharing with you, a much improved, super shiny Florence.

Sailing Florence

The 1st video in our refit series will be available tomorrow (Friday 5pm GMT). Join us as we pull Florence out of the water and find out what damage sailing 50,000nm around the world did to her. We will share the problems our survey found and our HUGE project list.

Sailing Florence

Hello from the boat yard,

We are deep into Florence's refit at the moment and have needed to focus our efforts on some major projects in order to stay on track for re-launching and setting sail again in the spring. That mean's we haven't had time to edit a new YouTube episode this week. We will be back with an update very soon.

Thanks for your patience. We hope you have a great weekend.

Best wishes from a very dusty, slightly epoxy coated,

Amy and Matt

Sailing Florence

🌎⛵ Full Circle, 6.5 years at sea. The full story of our sailing circumnavigation of the world.

Later today (8pm UTC) we have a very special episode coming out, in it we cross our outbound track to complete our loop around the world. To celebrate this huge milestone we have made this a feature length 34 minute episode reflecting on the highs and lows of the whole 6 and a half year voyage around the world onboard Florence. This has been months in the making, but as a result we think this is the best video we have made to date. It has been a mammoth task to choose what to include and pull this episode together, there are so many clips that it nearly broke the editing laptop! We hope you enjoy the result.

New video coming later today...
Just 600nm stood between us and the Caribbean islands as we left French Guiana and South America. Only a short hop at the end of thousands of miles across the South Atlantic, we'll be there before we know it... we thought...
Then we hit the doldrums; an area of light winds, no wind and squalls that stopped us in our tracks.
Time slowed down on this passage and the challenging sailing conditions produced some of the most spectacular ocean and skyscapes we have ever captured, we look forward to sharing them with you.

New video out later today...
Our adventure up a steamy, equatorial, Amazonian jungle river!
After sailing overnight, dodging unlit fishing boats along the coast of French Guiana, we tackle the shallow river entrance at dawn to enter a maze of jungle rivers and creeks.
