Welcome! I'm Florida PI Sam, a Licensed Private Investigator and Private Investigative Agency owner located in Florida. I graduated from law school in 2014 at the age of 40. Instead of becoming a practicing attorney, I became a licensed investigator specializing in criminal defense. I primarily work on court appointed cases for indigent defendants on first degree felonies, RICO cases and death penalty cases. I’ve even worked on some of the cases you’ve seen covered on YouTube. I started this channel to demystify aspects of the inner workings of the legal system from my perspective as a member of a defense team appointed by the court, which is much different than what you see in trial. I’m here to give you a look at what goes into building a defense for trial.
I hope you will enjoy the content and I look forward to engaging with you in chat and in the comments.

My client did not receive the death penalty, the jury voted for life. I’ve been trying to think for days about what I wanted to say about this case, and really a lot of the cases I work on. And the truth is, I can’t find the words to articulate it. So I’m going to keep thinking about it.
I’m planning to stream on Saturday night but there’s a catch. I’m putting this one completely in your hands. I want to know what, if anything 😉 you have learned from my channel. Good or bad, but please be civil 😊.
Here’s the deal, if you can be in the chat on Saturday night, then I’d like to see what you have to say during the stream. If you can’t be there, then leave a comment here or comment on the stream on replay. I’d like to know if you’ve learned something, thought about things from a different perspective or if you have any questions or thoughts about the future of the channel.
And here’s some Henry throwback pics for you.

It’s crazy how much time goes into preparing for a trial only to have it go by so fast. There’s so much the public and the jury will never be aware of. The state has a total of 4 witnesses left in this phase. Then the jury will deliberate as to guilt and if they find him guilty then there will be a second phase to determine if they recommend the death penalty. In Florida you only need 8 out of 12 jurors to agree to recommend death. What do you guys think about that? Should it be all 12 unanimous or is 8 enough?
You want Henry photos? Be careful what you wish for…

I just wrote out an entire post regarding upcoming streams and then managed to make it disappear. I will redo it in the morning. Hasn't YouTube ever thought about being able to save a draft? Enjoy a photo of Henry instead. He gets in his house but then uses his bunny as a pillow.

Well I guess one way to get kicked off a jury is chronic tardiness. Late during selection, 30 minutes late yesterday and today an hour passed and he was still somehow 45 minutes away. Judge even checked the news about the accident that juror said was holding him up. Thing is, he was nowhere near where he should have been to begin with.

Juror 11 is stuck on the Sunshine Skyway bridge which is not close to downtown Tampa. Meanwhile me and the judge arrived before all of the lawyers 😂

Funny how the state thinks a trial is going to take three weeks but will actually rest their case in less than 4 days. Trials are the ultimate schedule wrecker. And jurors seem to be under the impression that starting at 8:30 is just a suggested arrival time. But the witness that flew in from Ohio was outside the courtroom at 7:30 this morning.
