I've been getting a couple "wellness checks" in the 'ol DMs, so I figured I'd pop my head up and clear things up ☺️.
I'm in the final, oh, maybe, 5-7 month stretch of the Muhammad Ali 2-hour feature film; and while I "labor" on it day and night 😌, I'm also busy cooking up a lot of things *around* the feature film presentation 🎊.

Happy Anniversary to Muhammad Ali!! 🎉🎉🎉 On this day, 62 years ago, Ali, (then known as "Cassius Clay" to the world and "Cassius X" to the "iykyk" crowd 🤫), became - (*SPOILER ALERT*) - the heavyweight champion of the world!!! (For the first time 😏) 🥳🥳🥳
(And, man, I still get goosebumps every time I work on the scene where he's yelling the above quote 😳.)
That night, the celebration took place at the Hampton House Motel in Miami, whose close proximity to the segregated Miami Beach hotels - (where blacks were allowed to entertain but not stay) - made it an infamous hub for black celebrities like MLK, (who reportedly gave his "I have a dream" speech there 3 years prior to doing it on the Lincoln Memorial), Malcolm X, Sam Cooke, and Jim Brown, (all pictured here as they were also with Ali that night 📸), Sammy Davis, Jr., Althea Gibson, James Brown, Ella Fitzgerald, Marvin Gaye, etc, etc.
When creating a scene like this celebratory night in "G.O.A.T.: Muhammad Ali's Blueprint to Greatness," to add an extra layer to the film's exhaustive research and authentic storytelling, I often hunt down and restore the original location an event took place to deepen the unique, "you ain't 'eva seen it like this before," experience.
Why?
Because the more I learn, the more the audience learns 📽🤗🖖🏽🥳.

🎶 How do I score a 2 hour film?... Well, I start by understanding the true nature of it 🔍.
At its heart, both boxing and the story of Muhammad Ali are all about confrontation, which is a Western movie motif.
