I don’t really know how to put this into words (especially since I’m not great at it), but seriously what is going on at Epic Games? I love this game and will always love this game, but some of the decision-making lately has been in pretty poor taste. I know that one of the big things here is the change in V-bucks, but that’s not what messes with me the most. The thing that messes with me the most is them saying not that long ago that they were in a good spot to run the company without having to worry about making sacrifices.

I don’t really care about rocket racing, and festival battle stage going under and being removed from Fortnite, but ballistic had genuine potential, especially with the updates they were giving us with reality locations and updated shell maps. I think they could’ve put in a little more effort with ballistic especially with how fleshed out the game mode already seemed to be in its current state, but at the end of the day it is what it is.

In terms of the UEFN space, I’m not the most knowledgeable about that information, but from what I’ve gathered so far, they really need to start heavily toning down on paying out UEFN creators such huge and indescribable amounts of money, especially to maps like STBR or RVB.

I also want to wish that anyone that has been laid off recently from epic games, can land on their feet and figure something out reasonably fast. One of the biggest people on here that was laid off, was @evankinney, who 100% did NOT deserve to be let go.

If you’ve made it this far, then thank you for reading my constant ramblings and thoughts about what’s going on, but there’s still more to talk about.

Another thing that’s kind of bugged me recently with these changes is the weird excuses that are being made to try to support their decisions behind said changes. For instance, when the V-bucks change came out their excuse behind why they did it is that they needed to be able to pay the bills because the cost of running Fortnite has significantly gone up. However, when you dive into that comment, you can figure out that one of the big reasons that they were losing so much money is because of the fact that they were suing both Apple and Google within the past five years and losing potentially billions of dollars in legal fees. Another one of the reasons that epic games was losing so much money is because they’re bringing so many Collabs to the game in such a short time span. For instance, 50% or more of the skins and items that we got in chapter 7 season 1, were purely collaborations.

They also kind of did this same excuse when trying to support their decisions to make these thousand people layoffs, saying that they need to be able to keep the company funded because they are losing more money than they’re making right now. (Cost of running Fortnite gone up)

Look, epic games is a multi billion dollar company, who made one of the best games of all time in my opinion, but I’m not gonna say that I support every single decision (especially these current ones) when I don’t feel that that is the right thing to do.

I’m gonna go ahead and start wrapping up my thoughts and opinions on things, but I just wanna say one last thing before I post this.

I love Fortnite. Fortnite will always have an extremely special place in my heart. I will also continue to support Fortnite. I do not think that some of the things the company behind Fortnite is doing is perfect, but I don’t think that we should ignore all of the time and the effort that has gone into making Fortnite as good of a game as it can be. The developers behind Fortnite still truly deserve to have their work appreciated, almost regardless of some of the scummy decisions that epic games has made recently.
