There’s been so much chatter over on TikTok this week about Salem...the overcrowding, the commercialization, and the way the Witch Trials have turned into a kind of dark tourism hotspot. With millions of people descending on the “witchy city” this season, it feels like the perfect time to revisit one of my older videos!
In it, I explore how the image of the witch has evolved over time, from fear and persecution to empowerment and pop culture fascination and how that connects to our ongoing obsession with tragedy as entertainment.
