Fifth Generation in Uniform 🇮🇳

Some legacies are written in books.
Some are written in service, sacrifice, and courage.

With his commissioning after the Passing Out Parade at the Indian Military Academy, Lt. Sartaj Singh steps into history as the fifth-generation soldier and third-generation officer of a family whose bond with the Indian Army began in 1897.

The journey started with Sepoy Kirpal Singh (36 Sikh) during the Afghan Campaign, strengthened through Subedar Ajmer Singh, a World War II veteran of 2 Field Regiment, honoured with the Order of British India after the Battle of Bir Hakeim.

It continued with Brigadier Harwant Singh, a veteran of the 1965 & 1971 Indo-Pak wars, and Brigadier Upinder Pal Singh, who served with field formations and 20 JAT—the same battalion his son now proudly joins.
The legacy was further carried forward by Colonel Harvinder Pal Singh during the Kargil conflict and Siachen operations.

Service runs equally deep on the maternal side, with generations of officers who served across World War II, the 1971 war, and later operations, strengthening a lineage defined by honour and duty.

Raised in a home where discipline was lived and duty understood without words, Lt. Sartaj Singh now begins his own journey—carrying not just a legacy, but the responsibility to earn his place through character, courage, and conduct.

The uniform continues. The legacy marches on. 🇮🇳🫡

🇮🇳 HISTORY IS NOT JUST READ — IT IS CREATED 🇮🇳

A proud chapter was written at the Indian Military Academy (IMA) as Sai Jadhav from Kolhapur shattered a 93-year-old barrier, becoming the first woman officer cadet to complete training at IMA.

Carrying a legacy of service, she marched forward as a Lieutenant in the Territorial Army, with the stars pinned by her parents — a moment that reflected sacrifice, honour, and pure emotion.

After clearing the national-level examination and SSB, she endured the rigorous IMA training, proving that determination knows no gender.

✨ From June 2026, women will officially begin regular training at IMA, inspired by this historic journey — opening doors for countless future warriors.

This is not just one officer’s success,
This is a victory for every dream that dared to march forward.

🫡 Salute to courage. Salute to legacy. Salute to the future of the Indian Armed Forces.

At NCA Academy, we don’t just teach — we prepare future leaders in uniform.

On 14 December 1971, during the Indo-Pak War, Srinagar Airfield came under attack by six enemy Sabre fighter jets.

Flying a Gnat, Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon took off against overwhelming odds to defend the airfield.
He shot down one Sabre and critically damaged another before laying down his life in the line of duty.

To this day, he remains the only Indian Air Force officer to be awarded the Param Vir Chakra (PVC) — India’s highest wartime gallantry award.

🫡 His courage lives on as a timeless symbol of sacrifice and duty.

Vijay Diwas | 16 December 2025 🇮🇳

On 16th December, the nation bows its head in pride and gratitude as we observe Vijay Diwas, commemorating India’s historic victory in the 1971 Indo–Pakistan War. This day is not just a date in history—it is a reminder of unmatched courage, supreme sacrifice, and the unbreakable spirit of the Indian Armed Forces.

We salute those brave soldiers who took part in the war, who fought in extreme conditions, away from their families, with only one mission in their hearts—the honour and unity of India. Their valour led to the liberation of Bangladesh and proved to the world that when India stands united, no force can defeat her.

Many heroes returned with medals, many with memories, and many laid down their lives so that future generations could live in peace and freedom. Their sacrifice is etched forever in the soul of the nation. Vijay Diwas reminds us that freedom is not free—it is earned through blood, sweat, and selfless service.

Today, we remember every soldier who marched into battle without fear, every officer who led from the front, and every family who silently bore the cost of victory.

Salute to our warriors.
Salute to their sacrifice.
Salute to Bharat Mata.
