🏙👥 Freeside can be found on the outskirts of Dublin. It thrived from the large number of travellers who passed through, with some people making the trip specifically for cybernetics. To honour the history of this spot, the Mech Arena League has kept the original signs. Even sections of graffiti were salvaged and preserved. For those who don’t know, Freeside might appear to look like a standard Arena but it has a real soul and history. While the rest of the world is dominated by mega-corporations, this was a patch of turf run for people, by people.

🚧 On April 20, we’ll be rolling out a new test for the Trial Mode feature to 50% of players.

If you are randomly chosen, you’ll be given the chance to try out Epic and Legendary Mechs and Weapons for free without having to own them.

When previewing eligible content, you’ll see a new “Try” button. Tapping it will launch a test battle against bots, allowing you to experience a Weapon or Mech in action before purchasing it.

To ensure a fair and consistent testing environment, all Trial Mode battles will use:

⚔️ Predefined Ranks
⚔️ No Pilots
⚔️ No Implants
⚔️ Standard battle settings

The rollout is limited at first to help us closely monitor performance, stability, and any technical issues before deciding on a wider release.

If the test is successful, Trial Mode will become available to all players.

🗺️ 👀 Maverick, Nicklas and Acantha all have cybernetics from Freeside. Acantha did have to have one of her mechanical eyes uninstalled once she became a Pilot, after the Mech Arena League ruled that it gave her an unfair advantage in battle. Other than that though, they have nothing but praise for the work they had done. Maverick claims that one particular technician saved his life, patching him up after one of his work assignments went wrong. He owes Freeside a lot, and he’s never forgotten it.

📧🕵️ Like most other Pilots, Asami avoided Asmodeus. He was quick-tempered and often spent as much time benched due to rule-breaking as he did battling. Everyone was wary of getting on his bad side. Then one day, Asami received an email intended for him.

Asami can only assume that the person, who worked for the Mech Arena League, typed in ‘As’ and then sent it without double-checking it was going to the correct person. At first, she was confused about what she was looking at, but when she read it closely she was shocked.

An employee was offering up Rosa's secrets to Asmodeus. It was all there in the email. They promised to reveal details of Rosa’s battle schedule, her addresses, even information about her security. All Asmodeus had to do was pay. Asami was shocked at the level of corruption.

Silva Industries and Matsumech have always been rivals, but this information provided an opportunity for a valuable alliance. Asami went to Rosa immediately. The employee was fired. Asmodeus says they acted alone and is adamant he wouldn’t have accepted. Asami isn’t convinced.
