A little 2026 reintroduction & my hopes for the year ✨
Hello everyone! With Junk Journal January just beginning, I wanted to say a warm welcome to all the new faces here and a huge "thank you" to those who have stayed with me.

I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about what I want this channel to be. I live with chronic illness and fatigue, so my energy is a precious resource, but I want to continue to grow and build this community. This year, I am leaning even more into "Progress over Perfection."

My hopes and dreams for our community in 2026:

Deeper Connections: I want this to be a space (and the comment section for each video) where we really can talk to each other. I’m not here to be "perfect"—I hope to be a companion in your creative life.

At Home in Suffolk: Later this spring, I’m planning to start some simple "at-home" videos. It will just be me, camera on a harness, tidying and working on home projects before my day job starts. It’s my way of being organised while keeping things real.

A Mix of Creative Joy: Along with junk journaling and furniture painting, I’ll be bringing back more guided meditations. I’m keeping the ads to a minimum on these because your peace of mind is more important than a few extra pence!

I'm excited about our Junk Journal January & July and working with Sandra from Bee Happy Stationery and her wonderful Junk Journal Community Chat Room Facebook group.

Sustainable Living: Whether it's junk journalling, slow stitching or my goal of scanning my antique ephemera finds to share with you, my heart is in rescuing old things and giving them new life.

Frugality and thrifty creativity: There will be some low or no-spend challenges coming soon, starting in February with my Frugal February, when I shall do a low-spend challenge with no spend on craft supplies!

My long-term dream is to semi-retire in about 10 years to a life of quiet gardening and crafting. Every time you watch, comment, or buy a "cup of tea" on my Ko-fi, you are helping me build that gentle future.

I don't just thrift craft supplies! This is my pretty shelves made from wood reduced from a skip (dumpster) by Myles in first lockdown. I've spent the past five years treasure hunting and developed quite the little collection. Seem to have developed a liking for transfer ware too 😉. I washed everything and dusted ready for Christmas to be put out. When are you doing your tree?

🤒 Quick Update & Upload Hiccups! 📶

Hello, lovely lot! Just a quick post to keep you in the loop.

I'm feeling a little under the weather at the moment, and on top of that, I'm having some **major issues with my home internet** 😬. The upload speed is practically non-existent, meaning I simply **can't get a full-length video up**!

The internet company has promised a fix "this week coming," but honestly, they said the same thing last week, so I'm not holding my breath!

### What does this mean for videos?

I'm genuinely so sorry, but uploads might be **sporadic and a bit different** until this is fixed.

I'm having to switch to using my mobile data for uploading, which means I need to make the videos much shorter. I'm aiming for videos around **15-19 minutes** max to make the uploads manageable.

I'm busy planning how to tackle things like the **slow stitch videos** and my ongoing **Festive Just Junk Journal** while keeping them shorter. It'll be a fun challenge to condense the projects!

In the meantime, I'm resting up and planning new ideas!


To make up for the lack of video, here's a couple of photos :

I've been resting and doing a lovely jigsaw and of course here is my wonderful, but highly demanding, supervisor Dodger making sure I'm resting properly (or maybe just checking when his next treat is!).

🛑 Important: No Slow Stitch Video Tomorrow 🧵
Hello everyone!
Just a quick update to let you know I'm having some technical difficulties uploading the Slow Stitch video, so unfortunately, there won't be a new one tomorrow. I'm working on getting everything sorted!

In the meantime, I didn't want to leave you empty-handed! Here's a sneaky peek at what I've been working on: a visible mend on my favorite winter jumper! I'll include a picture with the post so you can see the progress. I'm loving how it's turning out!

📅 What to look forward to:
* Junk Journal: Trash to Treasure will be going up as scheduled on Monday! Get ready for some creative upcycling.
