I dream of the day this technology will allow a semi autonomous bike for the blind. This will be my next project. The computers will control navigation,obsticle avoidance And partial braking. If we had such technology that would allow us a 5 mile radius of safe travel it will change lifes for the blind.
This has been my dream since 2013 .to build such a vehicle. A low seating 3 wheel recumbent. This would allow the blind to shop,travel to work and exercise. With 70% of the blind unemployed exercise could be huge. The social gain could be huge.
Patrick and I have been working quietly behind the scenes on this. Hopefully in the next 2-3 years The Blind Driver Challenge ,the N.F.B. Or myself can secure the funding to start making progress on this.
I have had crazier dreams and projects before so this is doable. If I can drive a car 212mph ,I can put together a team to build such a vehicle to go 7mph.
