Mildra The Monk

Today marks two anniversaries. My 3rd year as a vTuber and 13 years on youtube. I started all this as a guy with more passion than common sense, and after all these years....I'm still that. I succeeded in taking the name Mildra, a name built by a liar into something far beyond its original intent. I chose Paro Taktseng as my early avatar as a representative that I wanted this platform to be a sanctuary where nothing matters but the game or show in question. Politics, current events, and so on don't matter in this holy ground.

It's had it's ups and downs. I've gained and lost friends as a result of sticking to my principles. My goal was to showcase what I felt wasn't being showcased at the level it could be. In addition, to be a counterweight to balance out the more cynical trends that I could never go along with, not just as a content creator, but as a human being. Throughout it all, I have always shown loyalty and given due to those who've gone out of their way to do the same for me. This, I think, is why I have had a blessed time with loyal friends.....my good brothers and sisters, you might say.

I'd be lying if I said it was easy, I have had more moments of self-doubt than I care to admit, about whether I am good enough to be in the position I am and do what I do. However, there have always been a few folk who've been able to pick me back up when my shadow was chasing me. They know who they are, and I am eternally grateful.

Equally so, to all of you who watch me. Be it for a passing curiosity or for research on something i'm covering, it's still your time you're giving to me and my crusade. That alone makes it worth it. Not numbers, not clout, nothing else matters beyond whether I made this space a better place by being in it. I don't exaggerate when I say that I get the biggest joy as a creator when my efforts get someone to try something new.

So thank you for letting me into your life, and I hope you'll accompany me and mine on this road I am on.
