Hoxxes Fan Film
Hoxxes is a shot-for-shot remake/spoof/raging parody of Syama Pedersen's Astartes using the characters from Deep Rock Galactic. It is now a joke that has gotten Way out of hand.
All modelling, texturing, rendering, compositing, etc, is done in Blender - which is a free opensource 3d software - if you'd like to learn more you can download it here: www.blender.org/download/

About 60% there!
So a few people have said that they didn't know the materials for the models were made separately. Because I'm using blender (because I think its motion blur and bounce lighting is better than some other options, just slower) all the materials need to be remade, but the dwarves have gotten gradually more covered with dirt, mud, and goo as they've gone. This is probably most obvious on the driller. Here's a side-by-side comparison between DRG scout and Hoxxes scout. Enjoy!

I'm pleased to announce I have a trailer up for another project I've been working on - CLAUSE 23 for Project Morningstar. I've been doing quite a few roles for this - writing, voice actor direction (it's harder than you'd think!) and storyboarding.

In the meantime, I'm about 66% of the way through Hoxxes Episode 5, but *my word* is she a big one. Almost twice as long as the rest of the project *combined* - but being done at a sane pace.
I normally release around Christmas each year but I don't think it'll happen this time.

So about a year ago I asked for ideas to put onto the back of the Sentry Gun as it set up, and I got a lot of responses (a lot of really funny ones, too)
I could only pick three from that list, so I added as many as I could to the Mission Control scene. Thanks for all your input.

Just an update, Progress continues - here's an asset I made that I particularly liked.
Quite a lot of the base animation for the next episode is already done, but it will be 8 minutes long, which is bound to take up quite a bit of time. I'll keep posted on here and Instagram

Hey!
- We're coming close to the release for episode 4, and I'd like some help.
In one scene there is a sentry getting set up, and I'd like to put a little joke/reference/etc on the read out display as it's being assembled (see image for details)
This is an open competition!
Suggest a fun little Easter egg to have on the sentry, and the one I like most will appear in the final edit.

Updates!
Firstly - in DRG community news if you haven't seen it already, here is the new song from Wind Rose, "Rock and Stone" - it's pretty awesome

Secondly - updates on Episode 4. The feedback from the community about episode 3 was really good, and it looks like the main thing I wasn't quite nailing was the animation. I've been working hard to get better - but I also don't want to burn myself out.
As such it's looking like it will be done by October (mostly because my job requires me to travel and I'll be away a lot this summer.) BUT I've been working on some geometry node VFX that I'm really proud of which you'll get to see in the fullness of time.
In the meantime, please see a teaser image for Episode 4 below - and let me know if you'd like to see more as I go, or just know when it's done (which has been my approach thus far)

Episode 3 is done - I'm just going to rest for a day or so before releasing it to make sure I've got everything pinned down properly.
