Under our 1987 Philippine Constitution, the State has a duty to protect children’s rights. 🇵🇭
👉 Abandonment of children is punishable under Article 276 of the Revised Penal Code:
- Arresto mayor (1–6 months imprisonment) + fines up to ₱100,000
- If life is endangered: prisión correccional (6 months–4 years)
- If death results: prisión correccional (4–6 years)
🇩🇰 In Denmark, abandonment can lead to loss of custody, civil liability for child support, and intervention by family courts.
🌍 Internationally, the Hague Convention ensures children wrongfully neglected or removed across borders are returned to their rightful home.
⚖️ Bottom line: Abandonment is not just immoral—it is a crime under Philippine law, Danish law, and international conventions.
Children are not disposable. 💔
In the Philippines, abandoning a child under 7 years old can mean jail time and fines. In Denmark, it can strip a parent of custody and force them to pay support. International law also steps in to protect children across borders.
👉 Abandonment is not just a family issue—it’s a violation of law, dignity, and the future of our children. Let’s stand together to demand accountability and protect every child’s right to love and care. ✊
🇵🇭 Philippines
- Revised Penal Code (Art. 276) punishes abandonment of children under 7 years old. Even if the children are now older, the continuous neglect for 15 years can be treated as criminal neglect and child abuse under RA 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act).
- Civil liability: The father still owes child support arrears. Support is a continuing obligation, so even after 15 years, he can be compelled to pay what he failed to provide.
- Constitutional grounding: Article XV of the 1987 Constitution emphasizes that the State must protect children’s rights. Long-term abandonment violates this duty and can be prosecuted.
---
🇩🇰 Denmark
- Danish family law requires parents to provide care and support until children reach adulthood.
- 15 years of abandonment could lead to:
- Termination of custody rights (if not already lost).
- Civil enforcement of unpaid child support.
- Possible criminal neglect charges if the abandonment endangered the children’s welfare.
- Danish authorities (Familieretshuset) can enforce arrears and restrict parental rights permanently.
---
🌍 International Law
- Hague Convention (1980): While focused on wrongful removal/retention, it reinforces the principle that children must not be deprived of parental care across borders.
- UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC): Both the Philippines and Denmark are signatories. Abandonment for 15 years is a clear violation of the child’s right to parental care and protection.

Imagine being abandoned by your parent for 15 years. 💔
🇵🇭 In the Philippines, this is not just neglect—it’s a crime under Article 276 of the Revised Penal Code and RA 7610. The parent can face jail time, fines, and be forced to pay years of unpaid child support.
🇩🇰 In Denmark, abandonment strips custody rights and triggers enforcement of child support arrears. Courts can permanently restrict parental authority.
🌍 International law, through the Hague Convention and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, recognizes abandonment as a violation of children’s fundamental rights.
👉 Abandonment is not forgotten with time. Even after 15 years, the law demands accountability.

🌍 Miss Universe 2025: A Call for Fairness and Authenticity
The Miss Universe pageant has always been more than a beauty contest. It is a global platform where women from diverse backgrounds share their vision, their advocacy, and their commitment to making the world a better place. That is why the final question of Miss Universe 2025 — held in Thailand — was so important:
“If you win the title of Miss Universe 2025 tonight, how will you use your voice to empower young girls?”
Each Contestants Answers:
Thailand 2025 🇹🇭
“I believe that everyone has been through struggles, failures, anything in life. We can get back up. It's not about how you fall, but how you rise up. I would encourage you all to be your own hero — to light that light within yourself and shine it on others. And if we come together and lift each other up, the world will be a much better place. I encourage you all to never fear. I am standing here as your next Miss Universe, and I hope to lead them. Thank you.”
Philippines 2025 🇵🇭
“I work with an organization called Alon Akademie where we work with young people to provide them opportunities to make them realize that it doesn't matter what your life circumstance is — it doesn't define where you will go. And I want to continue working with Alon Akademie on a bigger platform like Miss Universe to make sure that people who come from low-income backgrounds are given the same opportunities as everyone else. Thank you.”
Venezuela 2025 🇻🇪
“I believe that education and communication go hand in hand to influence positivity for girls, for children, for everyone who watches this platform. I am standing here because with my life experiences, I’ve been able to become the person I wanted to be. And this is the representation of a woman who is determined — and with her conviction, she reached her goal. That is what I want all girls to search for. Thank you, Thailand.”
Mexico 2025 🇲🇽
“As Miss Universe, I will say to them: believe in the power of your authenticity. Believe in yourself. Your dreams matter, your heart matters. And never let anyone make you doubt your worth, because you are worth everything, and you are powerful, and your voice needs to be heard. Thank you.”
Côte d’Ivoire 2025 🇨🇮
“Well, as an ambassador and as Miss Universe, I would want to be the face of a new generation that mixes cultures — modern and traditional. I want to be the face of an era of women who are bold, who are leaders, who are unapologetic about who they are. If I am Miss Universe, I want to be a role model for all young girls and let them know that they too can make it. Go into those rooms where you think you don’t belong, shine, and assume your identity. Because it’s time.”
This was not a question about glamour or stage presence. It was about substance, clarity, and the ability to inspire real change.

📌 The Answers That Defined the Night
- Thailand 🇹🇭 spoke about resilience, rising after failure, and encouraging people to be their own heroes. It was heartfelt and motivational, but it leaned more toward general inspiration than a concrete plan.
- Philippines 🇵🇭 gave the most direct and actionable response. She highlighted her ongoing work with Alon Akademie, an organization that provides opportunities for young people from low-income backgrounds. She explained how Miss Universe could expand this advocacy, ensuring equal opportunities for all regardless of circumstance. Her answer was authentic, structured, and rooted in real-world impact.
- Venezuela 🇻🇪 emphasized education and communication, sharing her personal journey of determination. While inspiring, her answer did not clearly connect to empowering young girls through the Miss Universe platform.
- Mexico 🇲🇽 focused on authenticity and self-worth, encouraging young girls to believe in themselves. It was uplifting, but again, lacked a specific plan of action.
- Côte d’Ivoire 🇨🇮 spoke powerfully about identity, boldness, and leadership. Her words resonated with cultural pride and empowerment, but they remained broad rather than tied to a concrete initiative.
---
🏆 Who Truly Answered the Question?
When we evaluate the answers against the actual question — “How will you use your voice to empower young girls?” — the Philippines stands out as the clear winner.
- ✅ She directly addressed the empowerment of young girls.
- ✅ She named her advocacy (Alon Akademie).
- ✅ She explained how Miss Universe could amplify her work.
- ✅ She focused on marginalized youth, offering a vision of equality and opportunity.
Her response was not just motivational — it was a plan of action.
---
📊 Ranking Based on Substance
1. Philippines 🇵🇭 – Clear, authentic, actionable advocacy
2. Thailand 🇹🇭 – Emotional and motivational, but general
3. Côte d’Ivoire 🇨🇮 – Bold and inspiring, but broad
4. Mexico 🇲🇽 – Uplifting, but lacking specifics
5. Venezuela 🇻🇪 – Personal and determined, but not focused on the question
---
⚖️ Why This Matters
Miss Universe is not just about who delivers the most poetic speech. It is about who can use the crown to create real change. The Philippines demonstrated that she already has the advocacy, the experience, and the vision to empower young girls — and that Miss Universe would simply be the platform to expand her work.
It is disappointing that the final results did not reflect this reality. Many fans worldwide believe the crown was awarded unfairly, overlooking the contestant who most directly embodied the spirit of the question.

✨ A Call to the Miss Universe Organization
The Miss Universe Organization must remember that this platform is about substance over spectacle. The world deserves a queen who not only inspires with words, but also acts with conviction.
The Philippines showed us what it means to answer with authenticity, clarity, and purpose. She may not have been crowned, but to many, she is the true Miss Universe 2025.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos must be held accountable under our Constitution. After Senator Imee Marcos’ public exposure of the President’s alleged drug use, the Filipino people deserve immediate investigation and transparency.
If these allegations of addiction within the First Family are proven true, it means they are no longer credible to hold any position — especially the highest office in the land. Under our Constitutional Law, they must be removed and punished accordingly.
No family ties, no position of power, and no Palace walls should shield anyone from the truth. If evidence confirms corruption, abuse of power, or betrayal of public trust, impeachment and punishment must follow.
I call on the House of Representatives, the Senate, the Supreme Court, our police, and our military to act now — without hesitation. The Philippines cannot afford to be led by syndicates of corruption. We demand justice. We demand accountability. 🇵🇭
