Closing out a very busy year with one last trip; this time back to my family’s homeland of Barbados. It’s beautiful to set foot on the same soil my lineage came from again (and the good weather doesn’t hurt either 🤭). My late father often speaks to me through music. I catch a song in passing here and there and know it’s a message from him. Today, on the day of the Solstice, he sent me a banger!! When I was a little child, he was into journalism in a big way and wrote two books about Bob Marley after he met him. I still remember him sobbing on the day he heard Bob had passed. Today as I followed my usual ritual of coffee before my shift, Three Little Birds was playing loud and clear throughout the coffeehouse. Not only is it a beauty from Bob Marley, but I’ve been receiving a lot of synchronicity with birds lately! Yeah, my man does it again!! No secret that I have deep love for The Weeknd and his catalogue. Have yet to finish listening to the full album, but given that “mercy” is a topic that’s come up in my spiritual journey since my trip, this song caught my eyes (and ears!) immediately. Love It ✨🙏🏾🫶🏾💖🪷✨
One of the motivating factors for my trip to South Korea was that I wanted to be on that side of the world to see the cherry blossoms in Spring. When I arrived, Spring was slow to get started and it looked like I might miss it. But luck and blessings, they are now starting to bloom!! I have more footage to take, but for now, here’s my dream coming true….🌸🍒
Made it to South Korea!!! I am now officially the furthest I’ve ever been from my place of birth 😆 I’ve never done blogs/ vlogs before, but this is one of those “once in lifetime, probably never do it again” kinda trips, so with any luck I might be able to document my travels, who knows? 🤷🏾♀️
