i did an attempt at a Shadow Hearts Judgement Ring! (it's the purple one)

Proud of it for a first run, but i mean to take a crack at the more granular details featured in the original version of it later. Aligning layers and layers and layers of concentric circles is more arduous than you might expect.
Need to figure out how to do a ring of text,,,

Koudelka cutscenes stream just ended. Periodically paused to explain the historical context of the events of the game at relevant moments, had a nice time recounting all of the horrific and beautiful and sad things that make me so sincerely love these games.

Btw i've been streaming Koudelka, and now currently Shadow Hearts over on Twitch, in case anybody would be curious to check me out over there.

I'm in the middle of a full-series stream marathon, i just don't really mention it on YT because my stream is a totally different vibe from here (it also discusses adults-only subject matter and is relatively un-filtered)

Also wowee, it's a funny coincidence that the same year i resolve to do a writing project on Dead Rising, a quasi-remake is also due to release in September. Kinda weird, i figured they would've waited 'til 2026 for the 20 year anniversary, but i suppose it gives me a release deadline to shoot for with my own project.

Much like a glass coffin, remains to be seen.

Dead Rising project being slightly derailed because i'm currently finding more inspiration in a slight deviation from the main topic.

Reasons why the series is DEAD: Reason no. 1 Dead Rising is dead: BlueCastle Games have no ideological principles. DR2 squandered the thematic potential of DR1; Frank should've been a passionate political activist radicalized against the American government but they assassinated his character and made him a rockstar burnout celebrity instead.

Reason no. 2 Dead Rising is dead: Chuck Sucks. Lowest common denominator, focus-tested character, engineered for broad appeal. Single father, unremarkable-looking but conventionally attractive and masculine, works with tools and hardware, cares about his kid. That's it. The design of his character is so cynical it frustrates me that more people don't see it. Stupid. Gets some consolation points for his willingness to crossdress, but not counting for much since that was an option in Dead Rising 1.

I'm just going to embrace my capacity to rant about shit that irritates me and see where it leads.

Song is "Dead Fingers Talk" (North American battle theme) - Shadow Hearts: From the New World

Given that the crux of DR's entire plot is a revenge plot against the american government for committing genocide against a Latin American village, the song felt very appropriate to keyframe over this scene (The chorus is en Español, se dice "enfádateeeee~ enfáda--", significa literalmente en inglés, 'Anger yourself -- Anger').
Almost like Frank is settling a score of revenge on behalf of Carlito y Isabela, and the innocents of Santa Cabeza who died for the cruelty and carelessness of North America's destructive and profit-driven experiments --
a parallel to the realworld violent military intervention that north America has historically executed in Latinoamerica, and one of the themes that will be mentioned in some detail in my script
