🚨 The 2026 Skoda Slavia facelift is here, bringing a host of new updates while retaining its familiar turbo-petrol powertrains. 🇮🇳🔥

The facelift gets revised LED DRLs and taillamps, sequential rear indicators, new 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and two new colours, Arctic Silver and Cappuccino Beige, taking the total colour options to 10. 🎨

Inside, it gets an updated 10.1-inch infotainment system with an AI assistant, a larger 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a new rear-seat massage function. 💆🤖

Safety and convenience also get a boost with a 360-degree camera and front parking sensors. 🛡️

The biggest mechanical update is the new 8-speed automatic gearbox for the 1.0 TSI, which continues to produce 115 PS and 178 Nm, while the 1.5 TSI continues with 150 PS and 250 Nm paired with a 7-speed DCT. ⚙️

The Slavia facelift will be available in six variants: Classic, Classic Plus, Signature, Sportline, Prestige and Monte Carlo, with the latter getting sportier blacked-out styling and red accents. 🖤❤️

@jcbmachines Hydromax has set a new FIA world hydrogen land speed record 🏁, reaching 654 kmph at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, USA.

👨‍✈️ The 2,550 kg JCB Hydromax was driven by world land speed record holder Andy Green OBE.

🚙 Because the Hydromax was geared for high-speed record runs, event regulations allowed it to receive a push for up to 300 metres at the start of each run.

⚙️ A specially adapted 635 PS @landrover Defender OCTA was used as the push vehicle. A bespoke push plate was fitted to the front of the Defender OCTA using its integrated, crash-tested winch mount as the foundation.

💨 The Defender OCTA had to accelerate the Hydromax from a standstill to 96.6 kmph within the permitted 300 metres.

🚀 Once the Hydromax passed 96.6 kmph, it accelerated under its own power.

🧂 The conditions at Bonneville added another challenge. The salt surface was extremely loose, while the effective altitude density during the runs reached the equivalent of up to 2,244 metres (7,365 ft) above sea level.

🔧 The Defender OCTA’s twin-turbo V8, 48V mild-hybrid system and all-wheel drive provided the performance needed for the push. Its 6D Dynamics suspension helped keep the vehicle level under hard acceleration, maintaining the correct angle of the push plate.

Engineers initially considered adding ballast because of the extra weight at the front, but testing showed it was unnecessary. The 6D Dynamics suspension kept the Defender OCTA level without additional weight.

🏔️ After each attempt, the Defender OCTA’s all-terrain capability allowed it to quickly reach the Hydromax for the return run, often several miles away from the original push position.

🏆 Final record: 654 kmph
