I just found out I have what’s called β€œhourglass syndrome.” It’s basically caused by chronically sucking in your stomach.

This is a habit I’ve had for as long as I can remember. It’s become a part of me. I’ve been gripping and sucking in my tummy since before I was a teenager.

While researching lateral pelvic tilt, which I’m obviously struggling with (the image with my circled hip, where my right hip is indented and my left hip is rounder, with one hip sitting higher than the other, causing serious lower back pain on my right side), I decided to also look into why my upper abs always bulge when I suck my stomach in.

That’s when I came across hourglass syndrome.

Apparently, it can cause rib flare and make it look like there’s a lot of trapped air in your rib cage.

The symptoms are wild because so many things I’ve been struggling with can be linked back to it:

β€’ Gastritis
β€’ Bloating and gas
β€’ Poor digestion and acid reflux
β€’ Neck, shoulder, and upper back pain
β€’ Muscle weakness
β€’ Chest tightness
β€’ And more

When you constantly suck in your stomach, it increases pressure inside your abdomen, can contribute to trapped gas, and may lead to chest tightness because it encourages chest breathing instead of proper diaphragmatic breathing. (Source: google)

I can’t explain it all here, but please look it up and UNSUCK your tummy right now.

I can’t deal. My entire body hurts. And I mean a lot. Some nights I cry because I can’t sleep. I take painkillers almost every day.

I used to overlook breathing techniques, but now I see they’re VERY important.

I don’t know how long fixing this will take, but I’m tired lol. At this point, I need a new body or something.

Only me: postural issues, uneven hips, gastrointestinal issues… haba.

The first step is simply learning to relax your stomach and just exist. It feels strange because my default setting is to suck everything in.

I’m sharing this because I think it might help someone.

Bye. ✌🏽

This is one of the best low-effort and low-maintenance protective hairstyles I’ve had in a while.

When I miss my hair, I look at it, and it resembles my hair. And no, I’m not tired of wearing the high puff.
I also don’t stress about sleekΒing my edges because they just blend seamlessly.

I can moisturize my scalp with no issues. It’s been a week already, and I’ll try washing my scalp next week (I want to see if it’s possible with the style or not).

PS: I know I probably take a lot of pictures. I take pictures before or after every video I make; that’s the only time I’m in the mood to pose for the camera. Pardon me! πŸ˜©πŸ˜‚

It's six days to my birthday, and I can't remember the last time I was genuinely happy on my birthday.

That's the day all my moods clash. I'm always sad and moody. It starts on the eve of my birthday until the actual day.

I'm envious of people who enjoy and celebrate themselves on that day. I don't even think much about it.

I get the "Where are we going?" "Is our cake ready?" "What are you sharing for us that day?" from friends and family. It's cute, but I brush it off.

It's just one day. I'm grateful for life, but the day after is the 20th.
