I decided to define this Afro wig I’ve had since last year. I’m sure a lot of you know the wig I’m talking about… the one in the 3rd image.

Well, after defining it, I genuinely don’t know what possessed me to cut out a fringe. Maybe because the Afro already had a fringe, but after defining it, it appeared longer, so I wanted to trim it a bit and BAM… I messed everything up. 😩

Imagine how this cut was reaching my forehead while the rest of the hair was all the way down to my shoulders. That’s how bad it was.

I had two options: dump the wig completely or loosen it and use the unit for a sew in.

So I dumped this wig for two months. In fact, I forgot about it until when I had to go for my sister’s child dedication and my braids were looking bad. I didn’t want to wear a headband wig because of the headache, and that was when I remembered this wig.

I decided to just trim the rest of the hair down to the length of the terrible fringe I had created.

And somehow, it came out GOOD. I loved it. I was so pleased with how it turned out.

The Afro was already really big, so I actually think the cut was needed.

It still had definition even after combing and fluffing. (Aug 30)

I’ve been avoiding cornrows because of my edges. The only time I do them if for my Afro crochet and since it’s a diy the cornrows are not tight at all.

The temptation to do an all-back was so strong, but I had to go for middle parts because I know an all-back style would rip out the little hairs I have left around my hairline. πŸ₯²
