Wow, I can't believe you found me. You can call me Luna. I am a random amateur writer on the internet. This channel is a platform for me to share reflections of significant moments of my life or to bring to life a story that I have created in my head. In short, you've just clicked on a physical manifestation of my internal world. Weird. Welcome to my mind.
Anyways...
I try to keep myself as private as I can on here. I developed a love for hobby writing at age seven, and it’s been a part of me ever since. There's something so satisfying about finally putting the cap back on my pen once I complete a project. I hope that you can share that satisfaction with me when you hear the end product :D.

LUNA POEMS 2021 POETRY CONTEST
Hello everyone! Thank you for your patience with the release of this contest. As I stated before, I am hosting a poetry contest that anyone may enter. The winners of this contest will have their poetry read aloud and posted by me on this channel, AND I will promote the media platform of their choice so others may find more of their work. If you would like to enter this contest, please carefully keep reading for more information.
THEMES: You may choose from the following themes for your submission.
Faith
Hope
Love
Coming of age
Perseverance
Nature
A cause you believe in / a social justice issue that is important to you
Note: These are very general/broad themes, so you may use your creative freedom to work with them. (example: with “perseverance,” you can talk about suffering). I chose these themes because my platform is a positive environment to encourage understanding and hope. Entries that glorify or romanticize despair will not be considered.
RULES:
1. Your submission MUST be your own work. Plagiarism/taking credit for someone else’s poem will result in an automatic disqualification.
2. You may submit ONE poem.
3. Your submission must be a spoken word poem. Spoken word poems are generally 2-3 minutes. I am not picky with the time limit as long as it makes sense for the content of your poem.
4. Your submission must be written in English.
5. Do not use “texting lingo” in your submission. Use proper grammar and proofread and edit your poem before submitting it.
6. Poems using vulgar and offensive language will not be accepted.
7. You must be subscribed to “Luna Poems” YouTube channel AND following Luna Poems on Instagram (www.instagram.com/lunapoems_youtube).
JUDGING PROCESS: I will be judging the poems by their flow/cohesion, creativity, and content. The easier it is to read, the better.
TIPS:
1. I like simplicity. Look at my videos for a reference to see that I don’t use giant words that require a dictionary to understand my poems, and my themes are fairly simple concepts.
2. Relatability is important. The more relatable your poem may be for a general audience, the better. However, I know that some topics are very personal to the individual and I will not discredit that.
3. Authenticity is key. The more natural your word choice appears, the better. I don’t like pretentious writing, so I would advise against it.
There will be THREE winning poems. The contest will END once Luna Poems reaches both 105k YouTube subscribers and 2,500 Instagram followers (instagram.com/lunapoems_youtube).
All submissions become the property of Luna Poems and will be considered for publication on the “Luna Poems” YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/c/lunapoems). This is so I have full rights to publish your work. All winning submissions will be credited for their work on the screen at the BEGINNING of the video. All winning submissions will have the author’s platform information in the description of the video and in the pinned comment of the video for viewers to find.
If you have any questions, please comment them UNDER THIS POST so others who may have the same questions can see my answer. Please do not ask me to proofread your poem for you. For fairness, all entries will be fresh to my eyes so I am not biased towards one poem over another.
